"Overall, The Gaff is a delightful dining destination that I often recommend to friends and family. The staff is exceptional, and the layout and ambiance are charming. However, in recent years, I've noticed that the prices have become somewhat inflated for the portion sizes offered. As a long-time London resident, I am no stranger to high-priced meals, but even by my standards, it feels a bit excessive for what is provided. For instance, the duck dish is priced at around £16-£18, but only consists of three rather small slices of breast. While the taste is wonderful and I can appreciate the quality and effort that goes into the dishes, I believe that there needs to be a balance where cost aligns with value, regardless of other factors. It is still a lovely establishment, and I will continue to recommend it to others. However, it would be nice to feel that you're receiving a bit more for the price you pay."

Great small-plate food. We particularly enjoyed nduja mussels, sirloin/short rib and mackerel pate. The dishes excel where elements of the food are just on the right side of burnt to have amazing texture and flavour. Highly recommended. Tasty food, but slightly rude service. The waitress kept coming to our table to take our plates before we’d finished eating. She stood there while we were finishing off so we felt rushed and couldn’t finish all the sauces and garnishes. They are small portions so not being able to finish them was a bit sad. Wow, just WOW! 4 of us had lunch and chose 2 dishes each so we could share. Monkfish, tiger prawns, breaded plaice, Beef, Chicken, bang bang cauliflower, Pannacotta....... Everything tasted amazing. A couple of refreshing cucumber Collins cocktails finished it all off. Outstanding service in beautiful surroundings. Can't wait to return and would highly recommend Service: Dine in

"Knowing that my family and I would be in Abergavenny around lunchtime prior to a walk up Sugar Loaf, I took the rare step of being prepared by looking up a tea shop that served cream teas with clotted cream (any civilised person would of course faint into their jam at the sight of whipped! and didn't close at 2pm (as if everyone's appetite sticks to a schedule . Meeting those requirements alone would have been enough to get a good review, but I was genuinely delighted by The Little Treat. From the moment we walked in, our every need was met. We thought we'd have trouble finding a table as the only one remaining was for 2 people (there were 4 of us , but the lovely gentleman behind the counter asked if we'd like that table and then immediately brought 2 extra chairs over and ensured that we were comfortably sat with menus ordering was prompt and correct. His colleague delivered our food and, when it became clear that there would be a slight delay in my daughter's order, brought over complimentary drinks. The food was excellent neither pretentious nor poor quality. Both our hosts were unfailingly polite, but sincerely so, and genuinely warm. The service alone was worthy of note if all catering establishments were like this then the world would be a happier place but the food left us all satisfied as well. I really look forward to next time we're in Abergavenny so we can visit again."
