"Delicious cod main courses for two of us but had to send back a hamburger ordered by the third member of the party who asked for very rare but the hamburger was dry and over cooked. The cost was removed from the bill. Excellent poire william tarts but the sorbet was fresh out of the freezer and too hard. The glasses of sauvignon blanc were not very good. A glass of tuscan red was good. The waiter tried hard but was clearly inexperienced. Middle of the week, not many people in the restaurant, Quite expensive. Possibly better lunch options in Yarmouth"

This is one of the best roasts I've ever tasted! The food and service were both outstanding.

It was fabulous to come back after a long absence, for reasons beyond our control. Looking forward to our next visit.

The staff were attentive and friendly, the food was fabulous and beautifully presented, and there was a nice wine list with reasonable prices. It made for a wonderful pre-Christmas outing.

We had a fantastic evening with great food, drinks, and service during our best New Year’s Eve ever. This will definitely become an annual tradition for us! A big thank you to all the excellent staff for their wonderful service throughout the evening.

A nice cosy bar and a lovely dining room with great view over the garden and the west Solent. Friendly service and delicious fish dishes. The limited wine list is good but, like everywhere, even vin ordinaire is expensive. Altogether a lovely place for lunch.

As always the food, drinks, service, ambiance was top notch. Emma, Elliott and the kitchen team made our visit another memorable special occasion. First class dining at its best. The George is going from strength to strength I look forward to my next visit very soon
