"The recent renovation of The George's interior has been mostly positive, with one notable exception - the excessive number of doors. This results in a constant stream of people coming and going, creating a chilly dining experience. Despite this, the food was very good, though not always served hot enough, and slightly expensive. The white wine is never properly chilled, and the service can be hit or miss depending on the staff working that day. One consistent issue is the view from certain tables facing the kitchen - a fluorescent light, worktops, and tiling are not in line with the historical charm of the restaurant."

Beautiful building, food is nice but the chef favours the 'less is more ' approach so I personally thought our meals were overpriced.

I have the mushroom and the ale-Pie that was delicious! clearly labeled vegan. but was very good, but a little pricy- it was worth it!

We have just returned from enjoying an excellent evening meal. We both had soup yo start; my wife had fish (haddock) and chips and I had hake. Both delicious. Quick, friendly service and sensibly priced wine as well. Definitely one-to-one return to. View menu

We had a great cozy lunch at The George Inn. Lola was fantastic, she made us feel like we were regulars even though we were just stopping in on a trip to Bath. The food was delicious, and the new remodeled rooms are beautiful. Definitely would recommend!

A lovely place for a family get together The meal was excellent and the choice varied and interesting. The flat iron steak was brilliant Loved the old surroundings and atmosphere and not crammed together Excellent service will definitely go again. Dog friendly too.

Called for late lunch got there just before kitchen closed and then had a wonderful dining experience. We had our family dog with us, who was made to feel as welcome as we were. The food was off a very high quality and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly and helpful and made our meal an even more delightful experience. Will definitely eat there again. View menu

We had a wonderful evening at this restaurant. The food and service were outstanding, and the staff were as friendly as always. The recent renovations to the pub have been tastefully done, enhancing the beauty of the historic building and its rich atmosphere. I highly recommend trying the chocolate mousse and other delicious desserts. My only suggestion would be to add more vegetarian options to the menu. Overall, I recommend paying a visit to this restaurant.

Beautiful views from the garden over the cricket pitch and pretty church, quintessentially English view. Service was good and very helpful staff generally. Our food was tasty and the ingredients were good quality but it was on the small side and the proportions felt a bit mean at times. We were going to have pudding because the desserts menu sounded lovely. Seeing the tiny desserts around us we changed our minds. I have never seen such tiny desserts and never seen cheesecake in such a minuscule size.. more like an amuse bouche than a dessert and would be miffed if we had paid nearly £8 for them.
