"After reading all the brilliant reviews on trip advisor we decided to book a table for the black rock as our normal black rock restaurant had closed down , positives are very friendly staff and food was very good , but the restaurant was extremely dirty , stained seating , dirty floors and the skirting boards looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months , there were piles of bean bags and general rubbish on the floor between the bar and the restaurant , husband used the toilets after the meal and advised I didn't use them as very dirty , such a shame food was lovely but was concerned how clean the kitchen might be if the restaurant and toilets were anything to go by , such a shame , could easily be corrected but unfortunately I will not be returning and cannot recommend, sorry"

The steak was absolutely delicious! The portion size was also generous. The staff was very attentive and the atmosphere was lovely. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

We had a wonderful steak meal at The Gate. A special thank you to Mel for surprising us with a bottle of champagne to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Very welcoming pub, party of 15 and 4 dogs within a private area! Brilliant steak on a hot stone that you cook at your table yourself. Fresh food and fast friendly service. Would recommend to everyone!

Went for a meal here last night and was so pleased with the food and the service. A shame we were the only 4 people eating,it deserves so much more. The lady who looked after us was amazing. Thank you so much.

Some free parking is available. The steak, which we cooked at the table on a rock, was excellent. The staff were pleasant and efficient. Regretfully the premises were filthy, dirt and cobwebs everywhere, it all needs an effective clean.

Food was absolutely delicious, we went twice, sadly my husband had to send his beer back, the garden needs some real attention and the inside tho lovely furnishings needs a good clean particularly the front entrance and the side entrance near the restaurant and loo's

Came here for a relaxing meal out with friends and that was exactly what it was. The environment was great, the food was great, and the service was great. The staff were very helpful, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The place was clean and we had a really lovely evening. This was our first visit and definitely not our last and I would recommend this place to everyone, it is a meal with an experience.

We visited after a drive out looking for somewhere to eat while on holiday with my 14 year old sons. My one son and husband had steak which you cook on a hot stone at your table. I had Salmon which you also cook at your table and my other son had a generous sized burger. All meals were fantastic and reasonably priced and both my husband and son agreed they have never had a better steak . The staff were friendly and tentative. We couldn't have asked for more.

During our vacation in Scratby, we were searching for a place to eat and stumbled upon The Gate. What a great discovery! This charming pub serves delicious food. You have the option to dine in either the bar or the restaurant area, but if you choose the On The Stone dishes, you must dine in the restaurant. Despite being busy, the wait for food was short. The dishes were tasty and reasonably priced. We will definitely return next year when we are on vacation again.

"An exceptionally unique dining experience! Our holiday companion booked Pamela’s for dinner and we were unsure of what to expect, however we were assured of good quality food and a great experience and we certainly were not disappointed. Upon arrival we were shown to a table in the lounge, provided with the menus and ordered drinks. Service is exceptionally professional and friendly from arrival to departure. The decor is most unique and very fun to take in. The upstairs dining room is more casual and I loved watching the chefs in the open kitchen. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. Our vegetarian diner was slightly limited for choice and there was a blip with the main course, however it was handled and recovered very well (we were unaware when booking, however we have now been advised to phone ahead a minimum of 24-hours and special meal arrangements can be made in advance for vegetarian meals). The fish cakes and miso Salmon were very delicious and cooked to perfection. The duck legs had crispy skin, moist meat and a tasty accompanying Orzo pasta. All in all I would thoroughly recommend Pamela’s for a delicious meal with 5* service. Vegetarian options: Recommended to advise the restaurant a minimum of 24-hours in advance. There were 2 starters and 1 main course (featuring pasta on all dishes) on the a la carte menu, however if you call in advance then arrangements can be made."
