"After looking forward to Christmas lunch for months and inviting 30+ members of family to what I understood was a well respected establishment I have left with a bad taste in my mouth (and that 's not from the inadequacy of the food on offer). Paying £65 for Christmas Dinner I would have expected a luxury experience but this sadly was not the case. On arrival we were hearded in to a crowding dining hall like farmed cattle. After sitting down at the table I was served a lentil soup that had been left sat in the kitchen since the beatles were in the charts! Cold is an understatement. Shortly after this initial debacle, several members of our party left before even enjoying the overcooked beef that was on offer after queuing for the buffet for 35 minutes. I did however decide to stay and sample the carvery but did find that said beef was tougher than a sudoko puzzle after 18 pints! The turkey was tasty however so must give marks for this. The vegetables were wattery and had a distinct lack of seasoning and the Yorkshire puddings were drier than a Saharan summer. The hall had a star performer from the classic children 's TV Programme The Singing Kettle which was clearly well organised but the decibel levels were astronomical! Screaming at my young son from 3ft away isn 't my idea of a Christmas to remember! There was also an elderly lady who had felt unwell and vomited outside the front door where the smokers were standing. I did see a member of staff notified of this incident so I had assumed that this unfortunate mess would have been swiftly cleared but after several hours I returned to the scene to find the solidified vomit remained. It reminded me of the beef. The wine on sale at the bar was watered down, the draught lager was underwhelming and the staff in the dining hall (no fault of their own and absolutely not a responsibility they should have to burden) were noticeably untrained. Not to mention the lack of direction from any members of management. In 31 years of dining out for Christmas lunch (Covid being the only exception) this was, by some distance, the worst meal experience to date. I now have to explain to my distant family members, who have travelled from as far as Montevideo in Uruguay, that this isn 't the experience I had in mind when I asked them to make the journey. Hopefully any guests unfortunate enough to have booked for next year already are treated to a far better experience. If you plan to make no improvements to the event, I 'd send them to a soup kitchen instead. P.S. here is a photo of the dust on my fingers when I ran my hand along the wall beside my table. The lack of care for what should be such a magical day is upsetting and I will be contacting the health board about the asbestos infused environment I was forced to consume my food in. Merry Christmas"

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and found the food good. Well presented fresh and tasted good. No fault whatsoever with food or staff.

Room was cold and draughty. There were heaters plugged in but we were not seated near them. Wouldn't recommend the Sweet potato and red bean burger as it was too chunky and not very nice-couldn't eat the meal. Steaks were very good although the fillet which was supposed to be well done was pink in the middle.

I made a reservation for Valentine's night two weeks in advance, only to receive a call 4 hours before my booking informing me that they could not honor it. This establishment is absolutely appalling, and I would not dine here even if it were free. The management should be removed, as it is no surprise that locals do not patronize this hotel. I advise avoiding this place at all costs. View menu

Had lunch with a friend at this restaurant. Unfortunately, the meals we received were not what we ordered or what was listed on the menu. The chicken caesar salad did not have any chicken in it, and the winter salad was essentially just a large bowl of house salad with chickpeas - missing the feta, pumpkin, and other ingredients as described on the menu. We had to get up from our table to find a server, and eventually someone brought us a bowl of chicken and a bowl of feta to add to our already half-eaten meal. There was no acknowledgment of the mistake when we received the bill. Overall, we paid £60 for two leafy salads, two orders of halloumi fries, one tea, and one coffee, which we felt w...

The Grill Room at Airth Castle served fantastic food during our stay. Our first night's dinner was included in the package and the menu, though limited, offered a good variety. I started with the mushrooms in blue cheese and then had the chicken with beetroot, squash, potatoes, and crunchy kale. The gravy was delicious. My partner had the haddock fish cake and haggis burger. The kids enjoyed the winter berries starter, grilled chicken, and fries. Breakfast on the second day was a self-serve continental and full Scottish with delightful coffee. For lunch, the children had the fish taco and ice cream while we had wraps, sandwiches, and fries. Our second night's dinner was part of a £25 per per...

First the staff especially the bar tender were amazing ,so I put no fault on them at all. Me and my partner's seats collapsed underneath us , I have never return a meal in my life time but I had to ,what was advertised on the menu sounds lovely but what I received was one breast of chicken cut in half dry , two micro sized) smallest burnt cubes of sweet potato, three very thin slices of mushroom ,it was all completely over cooked I've been fine dining) but this portion size and quality is even below par with weatherspoons quality , The children's fish was ringing in oil ,and they couldn't eat it ,as they were complaining that it's was fishy, slimy and watery , The deserts were okay but tasted... Restaurant lighting is terrible. We had to ask to moved where there was a light above the table. Several people were using iPhone lights to read the menu and see their meal. Food was good but nothing to write home about. It is also next to an open bar area which was a bit noisy. After our meal on day one we went into the lounge area to sit and enjoy a coffee only to find a group of about 8 people having a meeting about youth sport prizes. This developed into a full blown argument with them shouting at each other about postings on Facebook and other problems. The breakfast is also served in this restaurant. albeit there was a notice saying that they plates were hot on both days, they were sto...

We booked a table for 5 for 5.30pm, we arrived early happy to have a drink before. No acknowledgement when we arrived. No one asked if we wanted a drink. Only the Christmas menu available. At pains to say table WOOULD NOT be available until 5.30 Bar staff arguing didn't know what a Shirley temple or grenadine was? Restaurant completely empty we were given worst seat in the restaurant beside the humidifier/electricity box/speaker and booking desk, requested to be moved because of volume of music told it was too loud turned down no offer if we still would like be moved. Felt manager possible thought we weren't going to pay? Manager obsessed with booking app and future bookings no offer of furt...

"Horrendous attitude from one of the owners/family helpers called Lee. I would like to highlight that Sonia provided a professional customer service experience in comparison to Lee. Placed the order at arrived at When I called at to find out...what was happening, Sonia offered to phone the driver to find out the situation for me, which was good. Whilst waiting on Sonia phoning me back, I received a call from Lee asking me to tell her what the problem was, I explained her colleague was dealing with it she then went on to explain how busy they are, which is understandable and I understand the challenges businesses have at the moment, owning my own. But there was no apology. In fact Lee (who at this point I did not know was the owner/family helper until Sonia told me) went on to tell me it was my fault I ordered from Just eat as they had their own orders to fill first?? Eh hello? It doesn't matter how I place my order, I chose your business to order my dinner from!. Anyway I explained to her that I didn't like her tone of voice and felt she was being really aggressive with me. She asked me if I wanted to cancel my order,I said we have been waiting two hours, so we may as well wait, however she was very forceful and kept saying no I will cancel, I will cancel and then decided to put the phone down on me. I couldn't believe how I had been treated as a customer! Then Sonia kindly phoned back to apologise and I asked whoever that was, should not be in a customer role and I was shocked to be spoken to in that way. She then went on to inform me Lee is the owner/family helper! Shocking. Sonia asked for my details and explained she would let the other owner know what had happened. hours later, I've not heard a peep from the restaurant. So I've made the decision to leave a review after explaining to them, this is what I would do. After waiting over and a half hours and using them for the first time, the food was below average. The pakoras and rice was nice, however the chicken korma was inedible, it was stringy and chewy, the lamb bhuna sauce was nice, the lamb was fatty and chewy. So all that wait for pakora and rice and sauce. We won't be back! Horrendous way to speak and treat customers!"
