"Bit disappointed today. First I do think they forgot our order. We sat down at 12.10 had our orders in at 12.15. My hub asked for our food at 12.55 to be told they were just plating it up. We had seen others leave who came in after us for food. We finally got our food at 13.15. We only had the table until 2pm No Yorkshire puds on the Sunday lunches even though we said we would pay more to be told there wasn’t any? People on the next table got yorky puds after us. Must admit that’s the bit you enjoy the most and felt let down. We asked for strawberry cheesecake and received biscotti wasn’t really a problem because it was nice. If someone had come out and said we are sorry we forgot your order and had nipped to the shop 200yds away for yorky puds then I wouldn’t have been bothered. Just felt a little let down by coslea they just didn’t quite do it and especially with no apology. £130 later we left and it’s really put us off coming back you can’t even say you were rushed because it wasn’t at all we was there at 12.10!!!. Sorry Hamers we will be back for a drink but not the food."

Went for tea on a Friday evening. Staff were attentive and the food was very good! We had cheese pie, fish and chips, burger and rag pudding. All in all a good meal

I went to this restaurant for lunch today. The Sunday roast was fabulous and everything was delicious. I will definitely come back for another amazing experience. The staff were very pleasant.

My hubby and I were out for a drive and came across The Hamers Arms, we were both hungry so decided to pop in. We weren’t disappointed! I ordered the homemade cheese and onion pie, which came with chips and choice of peas or beans....

Visited on a Sunday for Sunday dinner. Firstly got the order wrong one meal came with gravy even though clearly stated no gravy. Asked for mint sauce as the roast with gravy went back to the kitchen. Waiter forgot the mint so had to go... View menu

This is an excellent establishment for families. The staff were warm and welcoming. The food was excellent and the a firm hit with the children too. If we ever travel back to Manchester, we will be making sure The Hamers is a stop for us....

The Hamers has always been a favourite of ours for food and drinks; recently under new management we have given it a go twice this week. Thursday night quiz night; we had food before the quiz started; there were four of us. Two had cheese...

This restaurant is absolutely fantastic, run by a former soldier where a reunion took place. The food is delicious, they have a variety of real ales available, and the staff is wonderful. The owner is fabulous as well. It is sad to hear that they are no longer there. View menu

We had another lovely evening at the Hamer’s Arms. The staff are consistently friendly and attentive. Good Pinot Grigio and went for the cheese and onion pie again definitely one of the best I’ve had. You really feel you are getting proper homemade pub grub here. Don’t understand why it is not busier would definitely recommend.

I visited this restaurant for the first time on Easter Sunday and made a last-minute booking. I was served by two pleasant young men. The Sunday roast was exceptional, one of the best I've ever had. Kudos to the Chef! This cozy pub is perfect for families or couples looking for a delicious meal with excellent service. I highly recommend it.

"Well, it 's been a while since I 've reviewed a place but this little gem has certainly reawakened my vigour for it. Visited this evening as a kind of belated birthday celebration with my husband and son and very glad we did indeed. We happened upon this place a few weeks back (passing by and grabbing a cocktail after the days plans fell through and instantly took to the place and it 's wonderful staff and from the off had intentions to visit again an so finally did tonight), within seconds of seating ourself at the bar we were remembered by the owners, which to me shows great calibre on the customer service front. As someone with an exceptionally sweet tooth when it comes to alcohol it was our lucky day to find they had cocktails on 2for£10 and hell can the owner Jo mix like a minx (even doing us an off menu blend to account for tastes). The husband not being a big drinker happily sat at the bar chatting with staff and customers nursing his Peroni whilst me and my son dived headlong into the extensive classical and modern mixed cocktail list. Having been lured into great expectations (previously sampling delicious tasters) from Jo 's lovely husband Dave on our first brief visit we were definitely eagerly placed to dive into dinner tonight. Our lovely waitress Sian, stood patiently while we chopped and changed idea 's and orders, laughed with us, checked regularly everything was to our tastes as did the other young waitress that dropped drinks over to us. Both girls portraying the perfect mix of friendly and professional, a refreshing change to be served by people that clearly enjoy their working environment. And on to the food... we started with olives (and boy was it a substantial portion in comparison with some establishments weak efforts), hubby was first in there, impressed with the quality of marinade (too many places these days forget the little efforts like this thinking folk can 't differentiate something tipped out of a supermarket packet). After much debate (I had my eye on far too many dishes) choices were made, Hubby had the Filo Kefta, which had a light pastry, adequate spice and smoothly complimentary dip, for main he went with the day 's Special of Lamb with fondant potato, heritage carrots and a divinely velvety Jus which he thoroughly enjoyed (and he 's hard to please, being well versed himself and making a point of getting the lovely Chef Darren a glass of wine in appreciation). The lad had a Sirloin steak burger cooked medium rare and is now demanding we visit again soon. lol I went with the Gravlax to start, instantly aware of the clean flavour from its curing cutting through (I even brought a titbit home for my kitty to enjoy), as for main, I 'd initially had my mind on fish but upon discovering the owner Jo was also a blue steak lover I had to try one there and wow they really take care in choosing their suppliers because that was an A grade cut of meat, even my son (who prefers medium-rare) upon trying a slice said it was an exceptional piece of meat I had it with asparagus, no sauce and swapped out the chips for a feta/pepper bowl which worked perfectly as did the glass of Shiraz that Jo picked out to compliment it for me. Genuinely I can not pick fault (read through my other reviews I write honestly, pick fault where warranted and compliment where due). Had this lovely little find been in our usual local it would surely become a regular haunt ours for sure. I would 100% recommend this place and extend our gratitude to all the staff for making our entire visit memorable and perfect."

"We were in Bury for a few days visiting family and the weather was beautiful , we live on the Wirral and frequently visit Brasco lounge in Liverpool of the same chain , which we love. We actually visited Racconto lounge 3 times on our visit , first time we had a brunch of bacon and egg muffin , which we really enjoyed (although the bacon was very salty) The next day we came back and had a lounge breakfast , and the following day we brought my husbands mum , and drank cups of tea while resting from shopping . We enjoyed all the meals , and its lovely inside , although we ate on the terrace in the sunshine and we found all the staff very pleasant and friendly . But..... we had 2 things let it down for us . Firstly on each occasion , the service was extremely slow, when we had breakfast , it wasn't very busy , but we waited ages , although our tea was brought out well before the food , meaning we then had no drinks to go with the food . The second problem was , after waiting ages , we had to send the breakfast back as it was really cold , and it seemed like it had been sat waiting , almost as long as we had , the bacon on both the breakfast muffin and the breakfast was really , really salty also. None of this would put us off , as we enjoyed the dining experience overall , but if you are in a rush , i really wouldn't recommend eating here , as the wait was alot longer than expected every time ."
