The Highbury Barn - Menu

Went here for the match on Saturday against Norwich (our first win of the season) great atmosphere. I’ve been coming here for years, but less so since we moved from Highbury to the Emirates. Still, I love how they’ve modernised the place and the food is good too.

The Highbury Barn Tavern is a fantastic pub that offers a great variety of beers, although they only have one on tap today. The atmosphere is bright and spacious with ample seating indoors and outdoors. The service is delightful and the beer is cold - just perfect.

The best place in Islington for Sunday Roast. We went as a party of four. We each had different mains but each one thoroughly enjoyed our choices (lamb, aged steak, pork). The Yorkshire pudding and sides were yummy, as well as the sticky toffee pudding. A must try! View menu

Super solid Sunday roast. Great starters and great roast. Fried squid was excellent and the croquetas were nice, just a couple more would have been great. The roast was tasty. There's a kids roast menu as well. Drinks menu can accommodate any budget with wines from £20+ onwards.

Lovely little pub. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Good food with extensive wine, beer, ale, and spirits list. The haddock was perfect. I would have liked the chips cooked at a higher temperature as they seemed greasy to me. My daughter had the sandwich of the day, crispy chicken. Well done.

The Wellington is always a great choice for some comforting food on a Sunday afternoon with my wife. The staff is amazing and the food is delicious. The only downside is that the toilet seats need to be fixed and replaced, and it would be nice if the stall doors locked properly. Overall, a great place to dine. Cheers to The Wellington! View menu

This charming neighborhood pub serves fantastic mulled wine. It can get quite crowded on weekends, especially during the World Cup, so be sure to make a reservation in advance. I don't think that the people who run the Barn fully appreciate what people want when they walk into a public house. Most do not want to be shepherded to a table and waited on and discouraged from visiting the bar. Yes there's covid to consider but it's not like you're insisting on masks for you or your customers so that argument doesn't hold. At the moment it's not a pub. I won't be back till it is.

Now the Barn is a lovely venue; one which in the past no matter what has been on the plate, its been gorgeous (Duck, chorizo burger, roast lamb and sausage and mash to name a few highlights.... but it was my first disappointment today and the image may show you why.... In my opinion: The pork was overdone, the crackling was an indestructible shell, which was not edible and hid a miserly portion of pork belly. Even a steak knife would have had trouble piercing it. Look at the pork belly review with image on a review a few down, you can see the size difference of the portion.
