"We had a fantastic Sunday dinner at this lovely pub in the Cotswolds. The arancini was delicious, we wished we had ordered more! The chalk stream trout starter was beautifully presented, with tasty cockles adding a nice touch. The roast lamb with all the trimmings, including a fantastic Yorkshire pudding, was excellent. I even managed to finish off the brownies with honeycomb on my own, as my partner couldn't help! I highly recommend this dog-friendly pub in Witney, with a charming private garden and dining rooms at the back. Oh, and don't forget to try their delicious ****** Mary! Overall, a great dining experience."

Cozy atmosphere with friendly staff. Prices are reasonable and food options are excellent. Celleriac pie and the vegetable Wellington were nice vegetarian options.

our Witney team loves this place. the hollybush looks like an old-fashioned work fairy tale pub from outside, between shops and houses in the terrace corn street. but what once was undoubtedly a solid, smokey water hole is now a cosmopolitan gastropub that attracts a mixed, lively amount of dunes and drinkers.

Our Witney team love this place. The Hollybush looks like an old-fashioned working men's pub from the outside, sandwiched between shops and houses in the terraced Corn Street. But what was once undoubtedly a solid, smoky watering hole is now a buzzing cosmopolitan gastropub, attracting a mixed, lively crowd of diners and drinkers.

We had an absolutely amazing dining experience at The Hollybush with its new cook and exciting menu. We loved sitting in the garden terrace under a candlelit roof. The staff was great - interactive, attentive, and friendly despite being busy. Highly recommended place to eat in Witney. Finally, a stylish and relaxed restaurant has arrived in the city!

Great pub and lovely food with really nice staff. I was on my own on a Tuesday night after 8 but they were only too pleased to serve me. Would have given 5 stars but for the service charge on the bill which I didn’t notice until I had paid and gone. I would have given a tip anyway, and more than the service charge but, they shouldn’t be on the bill by default!

The entire experience of having our own private space for our party of 8, which made it very COVID-safe to dine, was exceptional. We selected dishes from the set menu (which was a special offering, typically only available Monday to Friday). It was difficult to choose, as each dish was mouthwatering. Those who have not tried this place are missing out on a delicious dining experience.

We left Burford very hungry and in need of food but a dog friendly place ! We came to the holly bush as it was nearby we just weren’t ready for how amazing the food was going to be. We all had the fixed lunch menu and WOW everything was just so flavourful and tasty. As a family we are real foodies so we know good food when we have it. Lastly very impressed by the service we received especially from Molly. Cannot recommend enough!

"with my friend written on a september Saturday, in the middle of a short break in the cotswolds. very warm and friendly greeting from barman / renter and maid serve (berry we have no names! , especially from the pub-dog molly. nice to see a detached house still, with a few good hand pumps ales on (I had the lamb bitter together with a decent selection of gas cocks. decoration and feeling creates the seemingly popular 'shabby chic'/pseudo old world country style with mixed / interesting used furniture and right (for me! 'classical pub' feeling. I'm not a big fan of pubs to Gastro/Faux land to be more city/city and new (ish country types, but then I got on 'proper' rural/empty from nowhere to kneipen with mud on the floors, no heating and gents loos at least 3 fields away, so that the lamb good to move with the times and still keep me happy to go? it is a hard business and people, including bar and waiting staff, need to make a living. sae in superdog friendly multi-level gardens, and some people just there for a few drinks, so good to see a mix of drink and eater welcome. I had the 'cracked pork' burger, the super tasty pork was a crispy peking style, my partner a generous caesar salat with excellent sardels. all in, a crisp independent old pub in a beautiful village, give a warm and friendly welcome to the trade as well as local, catering for walkers and dogs in an attractively furnished pub served right beer and really good eating. if something could be improved, a few lighter, simple items like a traditional ploughman 's or a few sandwiches on the lunch menu I would surely go down a storm, especially for walker/cycists, but everything in big things long can be successful!"
