"Lovely little pub just out of the holy loch marina, the interior was warm and homely, a sight for wind battered eyes. A good selection of beer including locally brewed Fyne Ales, not to mention a great selection of West coast whisky. Speaking to the owners was a wholesome end to our night at the Inn, we talked sea faring vessels and DIY fish smoking. I will be back :"

We got stranded in Dunoon during the rains that left a lot of roads closed in October 2023. After a frantic day of travel and nearly 7 hours of driving a pint and a meat pie at the inn was the perfect medicine. Staff was lovely and the patrons and atmosphere made us feel like family.

"On our last day here, killing time before the ferry, decided to try luncheon here. No expectations either way. And we were TOTALLY wowed it was just excellent. Trying not to put too many superlatives in this review, but it was really, really ace. We had a lovely table by the window overlooking the harbour where you could see dog walkers, children in wellies, crabbing, and little boats coming and going. Classic Islay. Then I have to mention the food. Jeez, it was top notch, and huuuuuuuge portions. I don’t think we’ve ever had four such consistently generous and fulfilling portions before. We had the scallops (massive, juicy, plentiful , the Crofter’s Platter, which was cheeses, hams, sausage rolls, salad, bread, chutneys; the soup massive bowl, loadsa crispy sourdough bread, and the fish and chips which was so big it draped over the plate! All delicious. Our guy, Andrew, was superb, so attentive and smiley and always bringing us more things, spoons, drinks, more bread, spoons, he was great. And we had a lovely chat with the very friendly and nice proprietor. She was wonderful. Really seemed to care about the place and her team. She told us all about the hotel and stuff it was really cool. We will most certainly come back here next time. You can’t necessarily get the best table every time, but we won’t mind if we don’t! : Oh, also, lovely clean loos!"
