"Stayed here for one night as we were going to watch Newcastle Falcons play Northampton Saints. The hotel is easily accessible with ample parking, it was an evening match so after checking in we visited the town centre (5 min drive) then returned to the hotel for tea. The food, drinks and service were excellent. We then walked to Franklin Gardens, via The Sevens (for pre-match drinks that I would also recommend) that took about 30 mins. On returning to the hotel the bar was open until midnight, selection of drinks and service first class once again. Breakfast the following morning was absolutely spot on. Everything about our room was clean, the bed was comfortable and shower perfect. Special mention to Janet who looked after us from the moment we checked in to the minute we left, thank you All in all we couldn't fault our stay and would certainly recommend The Hopping Hare, will definitely use again if we return to Northampton."

Definitely one of the best meals we have ever had. You cannot fault a thing. Food was amazing and our waitress was lovely and friendly. Thank you so much for making our evening a good one. We are going to Silverstone tomorrow and popped up for the night to break the back of our journey. So glad we did

my wife and my family are here for Sunday dinner and were filled with the quality of the food. the Sunday roast she had with filet Steak-Rind was delicious with and unbelievable engraving. my psychic was cooked to perfection, crispy skin, juicy flocculent meat. so good, highly recommended. a cut over the rest of the pubs in northampton.

spent Saturday night here, nice room loved the air conditioning ventilator, big comfortable bed. we had a meal in the restaurant on Saturday night I had the bark meat and my wife had the duck yes it is a little expensive, especially if they are from yorkshire and we don't like spending money)! but they get what they pay. one of the best meals we had. breakfast was also excellent I would definitely recommend this place if they are in the opposite.

to remain an absolutely brilliant place. we try to make all 6 weeks a weekend break, as the pandemic restrictions are lifted. That was fantastic. personal amazing, so helpful and polite. shout after janet at the reception when we arrived. what a fantastic front of the ambassador. We had dinner and breakfast. a very high hygiene standard and cleanliness. I wouldn't have asked for anything. first class, even the note of the family owner in our room. we will definitely come back.

I just want to say a huge thank you to Sarah and all of the staff at this lovely hotel and restaurant. My mum recently lost her husband and the staff here have gone out of their way to accommodate guests that my mum has had to stay with sympathy, tact and care. The way they have treated my mum and her friends has been nothing short of outstanding. The food here is always beautifully presented and delicious and my mum’s friend said she was very impressed with the standard of her room and the breakfast. Thank you all!

my family and I arranged to stay here last Saturday night for bed and breakfast to celebrate my younger brothers retiring, our stay was perfect. the bedrooms were spacious, very comfortable and nice clean. we spent the afternoon and the evening to celebrate until the bar closed at 11.30 our evening meal was fabulous. the breakfast plentiful and very enjoyed by us all food was served on hot plates and perfectly. I can honestly say if they are looking for a place to stay in northampton, they will enjoy it here. 5 stars. Many thanks for having looked after us so well.

"I wondered why this restaurant described itself on the board outside as ‘fusion’, why there were so many Korean dishes on the menu and why the serving staff have heard of Asahi beer but haven’t heard of The Asahi Shimbun, a Japanese daily newspaper that is at least 50 years old. The answer is that the Akasaka website isn’t being completely honest when it describes their Northampton branch as a Japanese restaurant. They aren’t really Japanese, although some of their menu items are clearly Japanese. Don’t let that put you off, however, as they are serving excellent food and we enjoyed our meal there very much. It cost us about £70 (inc. 10% tip) for our meal for two people including a 175ml glass of Sauvignon Blanc for my lovely wife and two 330ml bottles of Asahi Dry for me. The sushi was excellent, the edamame beans were great but we didn’t feel that the Dolsot Bibimbap (a Korean dish with loads of rice, some shredded vegetables, prawns and a fried egg on top) offered very good value for money at just under sixteen pounds. We would recommend Akasaka in Northampton and would certainly go there again, but if we want a genuinely Japanese meal, prepared and served by Japanese staff, then we will be sticking to Ginza Restaurant on Wellingborough Road in Northampton. Don’t like the way that the male members of staff at Sakura on Bridge Street speak to their female colleagues, very disrespectful, so we avoid that Japanese restaurant nowadays. Great to have a choice of three Japanese restaurants in Northampton post-pandemic, and our favourite of the three is Ginza."
