This was a chance drop off , lovely ace , food was spot on and the landlord and his staff were brill, if it was closer to home I would return often ,as it is I will return next time we are in the area ,

The restaurant provided a warm welcome and served excellent food. The attentive service went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, including splitting the seafood platter for us. The dessert menu had a great variety of choices.

Yet again another excellent meal, we visit every time we are in the area. Proper home cooked food, big portions and very tasty, good value for money. Landlord/staff are always friendly. Good idea to book or you might be disappointed. View menu

This was our first time dining at this restaurant, but it certainly won't be our last. We were impressed by the delicious food, friendly and attentive service, and generous portions of both appetizers and entrees. This cozy pub restaurant is a must-visit.

Yet another visit to this friendly country pub where my daughter I had Sunday lunch. The roast beef pork was meltingly tender were huge portions served with fresh veg yorkshire puddings. Highly recommended but booking is essential. We will be back on our next visit to the area. Thanks Mark Louise

Great Sunday lunch we have never seen so much high quality beef on a plate! We took a detour of the A1 heading south to have sunday lunch at this friendly pub. What a great decision; accompanied by 4 veg, roasties, Mash and Yorkshire puddings we couldn't eat all the beef and brough it home for later! View menu

Visited during a mini break to Northumberland and was not disappointed, nice location in a quaint village, old style decor but clean and roomy.. Good choice on menu, we selected the chicken sizzlers, took about half an hour but was really fresh and hot enough to burn you if you dare touch the plate. Only thing was the BBQ sauce was a bit excessive.

The country pub was exceptional. A warm and friendly welcome greeted us before we were seated at our table. The service from the staff was flawless, and we found it to be the best dining experience in the area. The food was superb; I enjoyed a delicious seafood platter while my wife savored the lasagne. Despite the generous portions, we couldn't resist trying the desserts, which were equally delightful. I will definitely be making a return visit to this pub when I am in Alnwick again.

Great pub in a small Northumberland village serving traditional fare. My partner had scampi whilst I opted for the fish and chips, fish was fresh in a crisp batter with excellent home made chips. For desert we had lemon posset definitely made on the premises and a raspberry white chocolate roulade. Beer was excellent variety of real ales to choose from. £55 all in with 3 pints. If you're in the area looking for good honest food definitely be a place to call in at. Be back when we're back up in beautiful Northumberland countryside. View menu
