"Went for mothers day with the family. The booking system was great and the pub came back to me promptly with a query I raised. the pub externally is looking quite tired, there was what looked like an abandoned car out the front so first impressions weren't great. We were seated in the upper section of the restaurant, which really lacks any character and makes you feel as if you're sitting right in the thoroughfare for the kitchen. The set mothers day menu seemed good for the price, 3 courses at just under £25. We asked if we could swap a starter dish from the standard menu with the mothers day but we're refused. Out of the party we ordered 2 roast dinners, these weren't great. They came swimming in gravy which unfortunately wasn't a very nice tasting so ruined the meal. The roast potatoes were so bland and tasted like they had been frozen. The real disappointment came at pudding, we ordered the chocolate brownie bites from the children's menu, firstly to be told there was one left then told they'd run out. My son opted for the ice-cream instead then to overhear (when the waitress was serving our desserts the waitress very loudly announce to another waitress that the brownie bites were back on (not sure how they had found them all of a sudden? , would have been better firstly not to announce this across the restaurant as my son overheard and secondly if there was going to be a delay on the bites then it would have been nice to have the option. Had expected a much better experience. There are many other pubs in the area so I'll be opting for another one for our next outing."

We had a great evening, staff were attentive but not over the top, food was great. Only criticism would be the desert menu and lack of a desert wine choice but I'm being picky.

First visit to the Inn on The Pond and was not disappointed. Friendly staff, a good atmosphere in the dining rooms and a fantastic Sunday Roast and desserts. Will definitely be back.

Lovely warm, festive atmosphere, with a good menu to select from. Service was not rushed but friendly and efficient. We sat at a table for two overlooking the front and were able to enjoy a drink before dinner. Will be returning soon. View menu

My colleagues and I have been meeting at Inn On The Pond for lunch every quarter for a few years now, and we are always impressed with the service, food, and atmosphere. We come from various locations in the Southeast to attend these meetings. I highly recommend this charming restaurant.

After years of loyal patronage at Inn on the Pond, we were disappointed to have the worst meal we've ever had there. Our friends, whom we brought along, couldn't believe it and thought it was a joke! The Manager acknowledged our dissatisfaction and offered appropriate compensation, but the likelihood of us returning anytime soon seems unlikely. The Sunday roast couldn't have been any worse.

A cosy restaurant. Comfortable chairs. Plenty of room. Staff give you an attentive, warm and friendly service. The chef produces excellent food with good portions. The bill was appropriate. Parking was easy. It was good to have fresh cutlery after the starter, and a real fully encased pie. These are things so often absent in restaurants today. An excellent experience all round my wife, daughter and I agreed. View menu

The service was a bit slow. We had to wait for our drink and food but the waitress was apologetic and very friendly. I had salmon which was slightly overcooked but very tasty and my son had Thai pork which he enjoyed. The desserts were heaven. it is a lovely pub, in lovely surroundings and they had some quite large parties which may explain the slow service. However I would like to go back and sample more of the desserts!

I have been dining at the Inn on the Pond for over four years, but I am disappointed to say that since Shepherd Neame took over, the menu has changed and the food quality has declined. The new menu is very predictable, with only a few specials that are good, but not as creative as those from the original chef. The atmosphere and staff are still lovely, but the restaurant has lost its unique charm and the variety and quality of the food are not the same. I may still stop in for lunch if I am in the area, but the food used to be exceptional and diverse, which is no longer the case. Additionally, they no longer offer a cheeseboard, which is a big disappointment.
