"Inside, the restaurant was beautifully lit with candles, creating a lovely atmosphere. Unfortunately, the heating was only marginally sufficient to combat the drafts that were quite noticeable on a chilly February evening. I ordered a red Thai chicken curry served with special Thai rice, which featured ginger, coconut, and coriander. The chicken was marinated in an authentically spicy red curry and coconut sauce, enriched with kaffir lime leaves, fish sauce, fresh basil, and lemongrass. The dish was a delightful explosion of flavors. My wife, who enjoys fish but has a mild allergy to prawns, opted for salmon in a very satisfying Thai green curry made with homemade green curry paste, Thai ginger, kaffir lime leaves, and fish sauce, topped with fresh basil and coconut milk. It resulted in a truly exquisite blend of tastes. We paired our meal with Cobra beer, which we particularly enjoy with spicy dishes, and concluded with coffee. The restaurant offers an impressive selection of wines and spirits, along with a good variety of starters and desserts for those interested. It's evident that the commitment to high-quality food at The Journeyman is exceptional. We both had a delightful evening in a friendly and welcoming environment."

Unusual restaurant out in the sticks and based in part of an old house. Food excellent from start to finish. We had Indian, but I expect the Thai and Chinese will be great too.

This restaurant is perhaps one of the most underrated spots in Cornwall. Over the past decade, we've visited 3 or 4 times, and we appreciate how little it has changed. The food is outstanding, creating a cozy atmosphere that feels like dining in your own home. With a wide range of options, including a 'design your own' feature, there are endless choices to make. The place has a charmingly low-tech vibe—no Wi-Fi, no fancy decor—allowing you to really focus on the food and service. We absolutely love it!
