"We stayed at the Kings Arms Cleobury for two nights on arrival the staff were friendly and we were told we could go to our room before our check in time. The stair carpet up to the room was very dirty and there was a...unpleasant smell in the corridors. when we went into our room the carpet was very dirty the flooring in the shower room was dirty, we didn't use the shower as the shower head had lime scale on it and was also very dirty , the table in the room clearly had not been cleaned and the paint work was peeling off and there was dust everywhere in the room , we cleaned the room ourselves with anti bacterial spray. overall with the pandemic situation we were very disappointed to find a room was offered in this condition"

with the currently publicly closed brewery hobsons, this pub acts as a taproom. mostly swung hobsons on hahn. the staff is very friendly and eating is good at a reasonable price.

A nice open log fire on a cold wet day. Good beer. Had the fish and chips for lunch which was excellent. It was Fish Friday' so you get two fish and chips for The service is friendly and efficient. Good old fashioned style...pub. Hobsons beer.

Awful. Nothing like the photos on Hotels.com A very tired room that could have been much cleaner. Floorboards all creaked, very noisy. Breakfast was continental and left outside our door!! If you can cook an evening meal, you can cook an English breakfast. Very very...disappointing. Would we stay again?? Not a chance.

Really great food and very accommodating for my mum who is gluten free and keto! they are all so friendly and so eager to help. we walked in on a Sunday lunchtime without booking and they juggled tables around so they could fit us in....it's a friendly place, good range of gins and wines. I would highly recommend The Kings Arms to anyone.

Arrived for lunch and had a platter for which was one of the best I have had for years. Also well priced as the rest of the menu. Good offers on sale fish Friday and prosecco offer. Covid policy in place and all is...good there. Staff really friendly and good lagers. Went back again and lovely roaring fire also friendly pub dog. Did not stay overnight as staff stated carpets are being sorted in all rooms so we will be back there for a night. Hard times at the moment and pub doing their best under these conditions.

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."
