"hi all we called into have a meal at the kings head on a very quite tuesday afternoon! on aproach to the pub there was a sign saying food not available until 4pm so went in and had a drink and waited until the kitchen was taking orders! there was only one member of staff serving both the food and the bar on both sides!! we placed our order and both had burgers! the food was fair but not great the chips were frozen french fries and came in a basket and lacked any kind of taste!! the burger may have been slightly under cooked a little but was still tasty!the overall attention from the staff was lacking because in fareness there was only one member of staff on so he had got his work cut out!! when we had finished our meal our plates were collected after about 15mins without any inquiry if we wanted any puddings!! i think the person that eventually cleared our table was the owner! by this time the moment had gone to want to order anything else! on a plus side the timothy tailors was very good! to sum up we paid £40 for two burgers one j20 and two pints!! i fealt as if we had not gained value for money considering the present cost of living chrisis! to be honest the food we were served was not any better quality than wetherspoons and we would have saved one third on the bill! so for us its a leason to be learned! next time go to wetherspoons!!!"

Looks like the pub may have closed down. Two signs outside say Monday opening is 3pm-8pm, but the place is closed. Tried to phone but no answer. Shame, as I've visited before and thought it was a good pub.

Called at 6.20 pm Tuesday for something to eat the place looked dreary plastic flowers everywhere so not a good start. Asked barman if we could eat and told no the chef has gone home . Had been before and it was OK NEVER AGAIN View menu

This pub on the canal is a hidden gem. The outdoor area is beautiful, the staff is friendly, and everything was absolutely perfect. I will definitely be returning for the delicious food and drinks on my next visit. It's a great spot for everyone, and they even welcome dogs.

After reading reviews I was a bit sceptical, but the pub is lovely inside, has a beautiful garden with lots of tables and nice view of the canal. We had a lovely 3 course meal, staff were lovely and very attentive. Food was amazing all 3 courses our plates were cleared. And the music was very good too! We would recommend this place and would definitely stop here if we were passing again (we are in the area on a canal boat holiday)

I paid £6.50 for a small portion of nachos topped with grated cheese, served with a paper tub of salsa and sour cream. I was unsure whether to laugh or cry at the price. If you want to experience what lockdown was like, visit this pub. It feels like a Covid museum, with outdoor sheds for dining and a pool table covered by a tarpaulin. There are much better pubs nearby with higher-quality, reasonably priced food options such as The Malt Shovel, The Anchor, and The Plough (Galley Common). View menu

What a fantastic evening we had at this restaurant! Our family had an amazing day out and we decided to end it here. The food was absolutely incredible - words like excellent don't do it justice! I highly recommend trying the triple T burger, it was hands down the best burger I have ever tasted. And to top it off, we had a heavenly dessert of warm chocolate fudge cake and ice cream. The atmosphere was great with good music, positive vibes, and friendly people. If you haven't been to this place yet, you are definitely missing out!

First visit today, lovely place, love the harder over looking the canal, nice little place. My daughter had the Southern fried chicken wrap and she loved it. I had the steak and ale pie, chips and please and it was really nice, the beef was cooked to perfection and the gravy was spot on. My only criticism was that there was literally 3 pieces of meat in the whole pie hence the 3 star rating. Come on king's head put some more meat in the pie and your onto an absolute winner, I for one would visit just for that alone going forward. Anyway I will visit again for sure
