"Stopped in for wee treat after playing crazy golf after my parents stopped in earlier on and was not disappointed with cakes and hot drinks, both children got drink and ice cream. We stopped in towards end of day but did not feel like a nuisance and were going to allow us to sit at the 2 x 2 seat tables before a couple of ladies got up to make way for us after being swiftly sanitised. Reasonably priced and the hot meals being served around us smelled amazing. Decided when popped back into Dunoon later on in week that we would have lunch and so glad we did the chips were main reason for coming back and so glad we did. Will more than likely stop here again if ever in Dunoon."

"What a great place, it's like Dr Who's tardis. We went in just for a look around, an hour later we left. To say it's a garden centre is an understatement. They sell all sorts, plants, trees, shrubs, bulbs, seeds, food, kids toys, smelly stuff for men and women, garden furniture, jigsaws, books, quality garden tools etc etc. The cafè was excellent, it can seat 300. All the staff we came in contact with were curtious and knowledgeable, not only about the stock but also the local area. There is also a good size carpark, with entrance and toilets wheelchair accessible. Thank you for a great hour."

"Very disappointed by the waiter. On arrival at 3.15pm we waited to be seated, waiter shouted over to us were we in for food or a drink, we confirmed we were just in for coffee, to which he replied Do you know we shut at 4pm? . We took our seat and waited to be served, after 2 tables that arrived after us, getting served before us, I asked said waiter if we could order to which he replied I forgot you were even there . After that he apologised every time he came near the table, but in the most insincere manner. When we went to the counter to pay, he tried to push past me to go in to the butchers and again over exaggerated this, to which the waitress serving us found this hysterical and couldn 't stop laughing. Had he had the manners to say excuse me I would 've known he was there. He needs some customer service training or indeed to grow up. Not a pleasant experience!"

"Sadly very disappointed., Not been for a few years as we now live overseas, but compared to what it was live when Kevin ran it, it 's mediocre at best. Stater of prawn cocktail at £7.95 is grossly over priced for a couple of lettuce leaves, handful of small prawns, some mango and a dribble of shop bought sweet chili sauce. OK but not for a place like this. Main courses, two were sent back as the chicken was clearly re-heated and now chewy. Replaced with two other dishes. Mum in Law had lasagne, rubbish, not hot, clearly made in a large dish and reheated, how about getting a chef that can actually make individual meals and present them properly. My steak pie was good, but veg inadequate, and again, the presentation below average. Service from some of the staff was excellent but other youngsters clearly not trained to a proper standard. Given a discount but at £40 a head something better should be expected. Very disappointed, and will never return until a proper chef is employed. Buckleys, over priced for very average and in some cases poor food. Go elsewhere, is my recommendation."

"Unless you're as greedy and discerning as me then you've probably never realised that not many restaurants can successfully serve up x3 consecutive courses which are all outstanding. The vegan sweet potato soup with coconut chili lime soup was very well presented and had the slightest of kicks. Sensibly I scaled back on the mains (slightly) and went for a small Fish Chips (Haddock) which were great and just the right portion size although the absence of any mushy pea option was glaring and reprehensible. Sticky Toffee Pudding dessert was executed to perfection, not too heavy and was delicious accompanied by the ice cream. The best meal I've had in a long time and a real tonic to the restrictions that had been in place over the preceeding months. The staff were really attentive, friendly, welcoming and dealt well with the measures/restrictions that were still in place. The hotel bar has such a fantastic relaxed vibe, with a good selection of exceptional ales and the three courses and x3 pints for £25.42 was the best value meal I'd had since Rishi Sunak stopped paying for me."
