"If you haven’t been to Beck Hall, what are you waiting for!! This beautiful, totally dog friendly hotel is set in an absolutely stunning location, with fabulous rooms that cater for comfort, style and cosiness. We stayed in Room 9 which had dual aspect windows and overlooked the river, it was literally right under our window. To fall asleep at night with the window open listening to it was bliss. We had a sofa in our room flat screen tv, tea/coffee facilities, fresh, crisp bed linen (a super a comfy bed) and an excellent rainfall shower in the lovely bathroom. From the moment we arrived with our elderly Westie boy, we were given the warmest of welcomes by Linda, Julie and the team, they were such perfect hosts. Every guest is personally shown to their rooms, a lovely touch to make you feel at home, and I loved that dogs are welcomed in every aspect of Beck Hall, there is no ‘out of bounds’ areas for them. Beck Hall provide separate fridge/freezer facilities for your dog food and medication, comfy mats for around the restaurant and the snug and there are lots of doggie treats on offer too! Our boy dived into his bed in our room and was so chilled he was asleep in seconds. The restaurant is bright, and welcoming too, and special mention must go to the Chef and team, the food is absolutely delicious. I had the Sunday Roast, and it was the best I’ve ever tasted, the home made Yorkshire puddings are humongous and literally melt in your mouth. There is a great choice for breakfast, from home made porridge to a full English breakfast my diet went completely out of the window! It is ideally located for walking, with Malham Cove a short distance away, and local paths that vary in difficulty, so there’s plenty of choice. Nothing is too much trouble for the team they were wonderful, their upbeat manner and great sense of humour just added to our enjoyment over our two night stay. I noticed that there were quite a few returning guests, which is no surprise, we can’t wait to book another stay. The big hug that Linda gave me as we were leaving just endorsed the ethos of Beck Hall they make you feel like family. When you search for the ideal peaceful getaway, and you find somewhere like Beck Hall who have perfected it, then it’s time to put your feet up, eat delicious food, drink good wine and sleep peacefully listening to a river!"

"Just outside of overcrowded Malham is this lovely little village with this great pub. There's several rooms but the main room had a nice fire on in the harth and was lovely and warm. The staff were super kind and the food and drinks were great. There's parking on the side of the road as well. For me after a good hike and dip, Malham itself is far too hectic and this place offered the perfect peaceful ambience and a nice town village rather than a tourist spot. Nearby activities: Hiking Food drinks: The food is excellent Noteworthy details: The atmosphere is amazing, that proper old timey feel"

"Stopped for a drink yesterday after visiting the Cove. Eventually served by a young guy who clearly didn 't want him, or me, to be there. This was one of those don 't write many reviews, but the experience was remarkably bad things. Zero greeting, acting put out, mono-sibyllic responses to my requests. The encounter ended with a point towards the card machine as he departed without a word. I dare say that repeat business doesn 't have to be the strategy when you 're sitting down the road from an amazing natural wonder and everyone has to walk past your pub, but still, poor effort."

"After visiting Malham Cove and doing the hike round the area we stopped for a well needed lunch at the cafe, although very busy we sat on the benches round the back outside. The server was very helpful when asked about Gluten Free options and we all had various sandwiches with pots of tea or hot chocolate, finishing with some cake. Definitely in the prefect place for the many people visiting the area and a very good experience all round!"

"This restaurant has suddenly decided to force all customers to eat Vegan ! It 's NOT sufficiently signed, and after ordering a steak baguette, a chicken burger, and two lattes it was , to say the least, a shock to be served plant based versions, and latte made with oatmilk I tried my best,the taste wasn 't too bad, but the bland gooey texture was distinctly unappetising, and I couldn 't finish it The prices (never cheap, but acceptable for the excellent food they served up until a week ago ! , seem to have remained about the same It 's a real shame, but the eat what we decide, or go elsewhere attitude, does not sit well with me, and I and my friends will not be returning It seems unreasonable to be unprepared to offer the customer (who in this case is clearly NOT considered to be always right, or indeed to have a different opinion to the management ! A CHOICE as to their diet !"
