"Lovely little place. Very clean, warm and welcoming. Just what we needed for refreshments half way round our cycle ride. Menu was good and very reasonably priced. The food looked lovely and friends were very pleased with their toasted sandwiches. One friend had a cheesecake which was delicious. Only downside was they didn’t have my choice of tea cake so I had a scone with jam. The cakes on display looked homemade and lovely so I expected similar from the scone. But, I was disappointed. The scone was tiny, from a packet and not very nice. The coffee was lovely. I will go back but I won’t be having a scone!"

Excellent cafe/coffee shop, quality food and drink very competitively priced. Staff friendly and welcoming. Much nicer than high street places, it's tucked away on a car park at the rear of the castle. Useful refuelling point if you're walking round the city walls. Home made cake! Please seek it out : View menu

While we where sat having a really lovely bacon hatch (bap). A man and his family came in. The man had banged his nose. Needed attention. The lady staff went beyond her call of duty and helped the man. While the other lady looked after all the customers!! Well done ladies. Not only is your food fantastic but your kindness is amazing! Hadn’t intended to eat here today as I didn’t think dogs were allowed inside. We had just called for a cheeky toilet stop but the lady who’s beaming smile I saw behind the doors enticed us in! Such lovely staff, very good breakfast and treats for our dogs with the poshest dog water bowl I’ve ever seen! We’ve never been before but would definitely go again, such a warm, friendly place to be, thank you all

After walking around the Chester Walls we were in need of a ‘comfort break’. Stopped here and was pleasantly surprised. Seemed an odd location in a car park but would be ideal for those wanting a snack on arrival or before their return journey. The sightseeing bus also makes. Stop here. The toilet facilities were clean and staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a cold drink sitting outside in the sunshine. Did not try any food, but items all looked fresh. View menu

Four us popped in here for a spot of lunch during a stroll around Chester, and couldn't believe that at midday on a Saturday in the middle of Summer that they had little to offer virtually no cakes and certainly no soup. We persevered and ordered paninis and tea. The good part if the lunch was the tea, which tasted good quality, but the paninis, although they were well presented, were hard and not nice at all (two of us left half of them). The toilets were clean, but both the males toilet seats were broken off and lying at the side. We certainly wouldn't come back.

We visited here today intending to grab a coffee before our Roman walk. Unfortunately my husband bumped his nose on the car boot lid and it bled profusely. We went into the cafe to sort him out(we had our 2 young grandsons with us). The lady in the cafe was fantastic, she administered first aid, helped my husband when he fainted and still kept a cheerful smile for m6 grandchildren. The food the boys had was excellent value for money and we are all eternally grateful to the lady for helping us and for the other assistant who kept the cafe running. Well done ladies and thank you again.

"I booked a table for 2 really last minute on a busy December night, piccolio’s manger cosimo took the booking, he was so friendly and helpful that we really needed after a hard work in the cold winter weather! we went in and the restaurants that were breathtaking have woken us! the decor is stylish and above all it was so warm and cozy what we needed, we were greeted with smiles all around by every worker and was immediately taken on our table, without waiting time what ever! we were so swollen! Shortly after we sat, we tamara welcomed them beautiful, well presented and extremely polite. we thought up the menu, while tamara served us the most delicious Rosè Prosecco and took our orders. it was a hard choice, as we wanted to order one of all, the menu choices sound exquisite! so much choice and catering for all food requirements. my own and my friend decided to go for the spaghetti frutti di mare, which was absolutely inconceivable! muddle, mush and calamari topped with a huge garlic king prawn! it didn't take long until there were two empty teller and full bell! we stayed and talked together about the life and there was no hurry to move us from table to tamara has checked us we were so glad to have chosen piccolino chester for our girly dinner date and just wanted to say a massive thank you to cosimo, tamara and the piccolino team. I can't wait to come back to another fantastic evening."
