"Lovely, quaint little pub situated down a cobbled street in Heaton Norris with a bowling green to the rear. It has its own car park and is dog friendly which, is a massive bonus to me as, I can’t leave my dog alone at home. The bar staff even provided us with a bowl of water for the dog and some treats for him. Me and my boyfriend have visited a few times both alone and with the rest of the family. The pub is separated into 3 separate rooms: the lounge, the old smoking room and the vault. We tend to sit in the lounge area when we are having some food but, if we come down to watch the football and have a drink then we go into the old smoking room although, you are welcome to sit anywhere, that is just our personal preference. With it being a Hydes pub, you will obviously find their own real ales alongside the more popular and well known brands. Prices are on per with other pubs in the local area. Plenty of food choices from small dishes, main meals and desserts. There is also a separate children’s menu. Being a vegetarian I found there were quite a few choices for me. I tend to opt for the cheese and onion pie but, have also tried the Quorn Sunday roast and the Quorn chicken wrap. My boyfriend’s favourite is the hot beef ciabatta which comes with a jug of gravy and a portion of fries. Lovely family pub. Highly recommend!!!"

This hidden gem of a restaurant is located off the beaten path, but still easily accessible. The beer garden is lovely and the service is great. However, the food was disappointing and I would rate it 2 out of 5 stars.

After hearing great things about this restaurant, we decided to give it a try and we were not disappointed. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent value for the price. Overall, we give it a perfect score: 5 for food, 5 for service, and 5 for atmosphere.

This used to be a great place to eat, good quality food at a reasonable price. My husband and I went in on 7th July 2023 for an early dinner, He ordered the hunters chicken and I ordered the cheese and onion pie, both meals come to just shy of £20 and both were cold, the pie was so cold it could have just come out of the fridge. We left both meals on the table, walked out and won't be going back.

I’m sorry to say but this was the worst Christmas meal I have had the misfortune to eat it wasn’t worth the money and I would not recommend it. The menu sounded delicious but what we were served was not what I expected, we were assured that there would be a GF option but this was not available so I wasn’t able to have a starter and the Christmas dinner that was given to me I sent back as it had turkey, mash, spouts, carrots gravy that looked and tasted rubbish no pigs in blankets no parsnip no roast potatoes. !! Very disappointing for my family the whole experience was a nightmare and a waste of money.

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."
