The Olde Royal Oak - Menu

Ordered a panini, waited an hour. Staff said that they could not find me as I sat and waited in their garden waiting, so they left the food at the bar. Really poor.

Went with my daughter's hockey team for a post match drink and chips. The chips were tasty. There was a big room we went into so as not to disturb the other people in the pub. Would recommend.

First time at the pub today. Lovely warm real fire in bar, food was great my steak was spot on and very tender) . My son had the pie and wife had a nice burger. Overall v good , would come again

Lovely local pub. Landlady and team very friendly and helpful nothing to much trouble. Food very good and helpings too. Family over from Australia loved it and the garden is lovely to eat in with your dog too. Very relaxed place for any age group.

I booked a table over the phone to be by the open fire. My girlfriend got there first, the fire was blazing. We had a couple of drinks and a bite to eat. The food was great but what stood out was the excellent, friendly service! Will happily return again.

We walked to the Oak yesterday afternoon after deciding to go for a drink and maybe a light bite. We ended up having a meal recommended by the very friendly and helpful chef, who obviously likes to interact with customers which is refreshing. The food was delicious, lamb chops for my husband and a lovely cod dish for myself couldn’t fault either meal. The barman was very friendly and efficient too. Happy we decided to take a walk.

Incredible!!! Popped in as we were passing on home and didn’t know what food was like and wasn’t expecting too much. Warm and pleasant welcome from Johnny (chef) and all staff. And food was absolutely incredible!!! We were roped in (kindly) by Johnny to the steak with the most yummiest Stilton and Peppercorn sauce, it was amazing!! 1000% be back again and will bring friends and family. Lovely warm and cosy pub! Definitely worth the visit.

Really nice attention from the bar staff and excellent hearty food but why o why can’t the toilets be cleaned? We spent the afternoon here eating, drinking and enjoying the place but as always those dreaded gent loos had to be frequented. The place looks as if it’s not ever been cleaned. No care or attention. Such a shame. Home that the manager can direct some cleaning resources to attend. I’m sure the sign on the back of the door must be a joke right…?

First impressions good, The portions were plentiful, but the jacket potato looked like yesterdays leftover. Meal was Luke warm and pie pastry was hard in parts which was a pity. On trying to pay the bill, we were left hanging around while the person behind the bar served some customers then said we’d have to wait while she dealt with something else. Was disappointed as last time we had a really good meal which was why we returned. Won’t be returning now
