"Visited for Sunday Lunch Service as a small group of friends Wow!! Venue: Ample parking, located near Lutterworth near easy to access. A beautiful restaurant with warm cozy Christmas decor Staff: So friendly and attentive! Not ever received service this perfect nor...as enjoyable The gentleman making the drinks at the bar was superb and so flexible, we were not keen to drink alcohol for lunch so he kindly adjusted the menus for cocktail into mocktails! Highly recommend all the creations, in particular the passionfruit and pineapple mocktail! Thank you so much! Each dish came with a brief introduction and Chef Alexander even personally came to the table at the end of the meal to discuss the dishes! Food: Beyond words- it is amazing! This place truly deserves Michelin Star status the menu consisted of the Romanian bread with truffle butter, the salmon roulade, the turkey (I only picked turkey as a homage to Christmas and usually have extremely low expectations as it is difficult to cook as it is often dry this dish was so tender and flavour some its mind blowing. Highly recommend! The dessert was pear pastry with coffee /tea- The whole experience was perfect (I hardly ever use that word I would highly recommend this establishment and would have no hesitation in returning in fact we plan to when it reopens in Jan for their Spring Menu Wishing the establishment and all its staff a very Merry Xmas and Happy New Year!"

"visited before 2 weeks for a family birthday meal. there were about 15 of us. waited for over 30 minutes for drinks and some of them came wrong (the waitresses tried to remember everything instead of writing them down). they waited 20 minutes to take our food order. only 3 of the meals were to be taken from the kitchen, the rest of us ordered carveries, but we had to wait for more than 30 minutes to eat. we sat up, and those of us, who had carousel, had to go down for the carousel and bring our tellers back to the small staircase. totally unpractical for children, older family members or persons with mobility problems. I had worn a long dress and heel, obviously not expected that this had to be done so that I fought to carry my plate and not drive up the stairs. the waiting staff offered no one to help, just stood at the foot of the stairs and watched us. Many of the waiting staff seemed quite young, which is in order as I did the same at 16. I did not find them really rude as some other reviews say, but they were very quiet and shy and do not seem excessively knowledgeable. the menu is not cheap, but the quality of the carvery was very cut. the bark was impossible to cut and chew. the brat potatoes were boiled so that they were only hollow dishes of crispy dried fat. none of the food was labeled at the carvery, so I have some red cabbage on my teller, not to realize that it was pickled that I did not have a fan of. the drinks are expressingly expensive. even a big koks was £4. the setting was nice, but I am not in a hurry back. parking is not great in busy times."

"Arrived here this afternoon expecting really good food after it being recommended highly. However I was really disappointed in the meal that I had today. I ordered the king Henry Vlll special. Ordered medium rare with a side of mushrooms as they don’t come with...mushrooms just peas and chips and honestly the mushrooms were the best part. The steak came medium well I only say this as it was pretty much well done but is still had a-bit of blood.. chips where just standard frozen chunky chips and well peas are peas. For £22 i expected a little better than your standard table table steak. only 2 of our group received their steak cooked how they ordered it. We was a group of 14 having various different meals although I believe the other food besides steaks were fine.. meals were being served incomplete without chips ect.. had to be reminded after they served everything else. I don’t know wether the barman Bradley I believe his name was having a stressful time but wasn’t very helpful when basic food questions where being asked. Also was very rushed only had the table reserved for a hour and half with no choice and with 14 people and a new born baby it wasn’t enough time for everyone to arrive get a drink and sit down to browse the menu. so I recommend you know what your having before you arrive pretty much. It took half hour to seat and order and half hour for food to arrive which only left 30 mins to eat food. There wasn’t any time for pudding at all or to even finish the last of our drinks as the people waiting for the table was already queuing up behind us pretty much eat and move and with all tables being reserved was sort of forced to the tables outside and it was cold and raining so just our luck. If your thinking of a group booking I feel theirs to much pressure for the kitchen and would avoid. also only one barman with the occasional glass collector helping as he passed. So was a long wait at the bar. This review is based on 14 people booking so maybe it’s better with less being ordered at once. But most definitely not the best food in Leicestershire as they state."
