"Have visited the Plough four times with various friends recently and everyone has said how much they enjoyed the visit. We have been for both Sunday lunch and for dinner in the evening and it is rapidly becoming the regular Sunday lunch ”watering and feeding...hole” for four of us, (who have been nicknamed the Recalcitrant Geriatric Sunday Lunch Bunch the RGSLB), because it is so comfortable and welcoming. Parking is brilliant, including a disabled space, there are no steps to manage and there is room to move when you get inside. Three of us are on walking sticks or “triangular walky things” and a bit unsteady on our feet. It does have giant TV screens and loudspeakers but they are not on all the time and you can converse in comfort with your friends; we were offered a quiet corner which was ideal. The landlady and landlord made us welcome and looked after us beautifully and provided very nice food and drinks – including good beer! so we have felt nicely cared for. We used to bring another friend but his dementia now prevents this but a little “takeaway” was willingly provided for us to take to him, without fuss or drama. Since our previous Sunday venue closed we have been to more than ten pubs but if you can park the service is bad or there are steps to negotiate or loudspeakers twittering away above your head or always something wrong. Nothing has worked ‘til the Plough. One of our number is a retired pub landlady – and she approves! The Plough is a pub which serves food, not a restaurant that claims to sell beer and Andy and Jackie are to be congratulated on running a “proper pub”! We’ll be back……..!"

Very well presented tasty food, plenty of everything, thoroughly enjoyed. Proper welcome, without gushing. We had one specific drink requirement, they didn't have the Campari we wanted but allowed us to bring our own. Well done all.

Terry R must have been unfortunate as the real ale was in good condition when I made a brief lunchtime stop here last weekend whilst supporting two marathon runners. Unfortunately by their second lap the pub had closed due to the weather conditions and there...was no opportunity for another pint.

My wife and I visit The Plouh regularly for a meal and/or a drink. We always enjoy our visits. It's a straightforward pub. Homely and nice to be in. The food is straightforward too. Eg. Meat pie, chips and peas. Always consistent and tasty and...of good size. The service is polite and friendly. I recommend a visit. View menu

Used to frequent this pub many moons ago when I lived in area, so keen to pay a visit, when near Woking. Stopped off for a very tasty Sunday Roast I had lamb, which was very tender, and wife had chicken which she enjoyed....Plenty of veggies, and big Yorkshires. Owners were telling me about the fire and recent history, none of which I knew. We will return as and when we get the chance, but wish them well with the pub in the meantime.

Very disappointing lunch! Coffee was horrible and expensive obviously instant too! Chicken pie was on specials board saying chicken and mushroom in a creamy sauce, that wasn’t my experience, mine was a congealed mass with only notable pieces of chicken in a heavy flaky...pastry shell, gravy was lumpy and the broccoli over cooked. We also had a vegetable bake and that was under cooked broccoli and cauliflower with a watery tomato sauce and melted cheese on top. Not home cooked food as we heard the microwave ping in the kitchen many times!

Popped in for a Sunday lunch (walked in, no booking) after a walk around Chobham Common and area. We were a little surprised that it wasn't busier as it was prime time I guess dry January and Veganuary come into play. The food...and service was both excellent. The chef was able to go a little off piste for my wife and made up a lemon sauce for the fish of the day menu that she had chosen. Food was piping hot and cooked to perfection. Portion size was perfect for me, so I would say large Lovely homely atmosphere and friendly landlord and landlady. We'll be using this put again for sure. View menu

Went as a party of for a Father’s Day lunch including my father in law. Awful food, terrible unfriendly service. Had only roast chicken and ran out of some desserts. How the hell can that happen on Father’s Day when the main event...is a roast. The pub was almost empty so baffling to have run out of food especially since we had a reservation. Had to wait mins for food that had been quite clearly been warmed up in the microwave. Said on Facebook a free pint for every dad. Well we weren’t offered any or told about that. Only time ever I’ve never left a tip. A total waste of Only one word to sum it up, awful!

Not being funny, but it's not a gastro pub, not a music centre, not a youth gathering point, not the In place It's a lovely pub. It has beer (nicely kept), it has food (just real food, not a grape on a stick that's been...shown to a steak and possibly that once saw a lettuce leaf), it's just really decent pub food. My friends are vegetarian and they are satisfied with the choice available to them. It's not noisy. There's no musak. There's a discreet TV screen but you can be away from it. There's an occasional dog to say hello to. There's conversation. People seem not to be attached to their phones or tablets, instead they talk to each other. Bless it, it's a pub! I love it. Sadly there aren'...

"Disappointed to have booked and not be warned about the mezze being the only available option. Told when sat down. Not much option but to accept. Food great. Tried to charge for each of us there were adults and an year old and year old despite agreeing to do deal for the of them when we ordered. When asked for the bill I was over charged. They didn’t leave bill on table and just tell you the value and present the card machine immediately. I queried and he went to alter. I paid. I realised that in fact they had charged more than the first time. I ended up having to ask for a print out of the bill on my way out. He gave it to me. It wasn’t even our bill plus they’d charged for the set menu!!?!?!!. I wrote down what we had eaten and drank and we added it up properly together and he had indeed overcharged by He couldn’t refund the card and so gave cash. Lush food. If you go please check what’s on offer before you go. Then insist that the bill if left on your table like in a normal restaurant. This gives the customer the time to check all is well before paying. I really felt the chap was trying to pull the wool over our eyes. Don’t let them! He did the same to another table which had a couple and a young child of about or Charged The excuse was that he couldn’t deduct dine in because we only wanted set menus. Rubbish. We have eaten out all month in the scheme in restaurant in bristol and in central London and this is the only time I’ve heard this tosh. Chap could put whatever he wanted into the till ...it’s his restaurant. of us dined. x to come of bill. I found the whole invoicing experience poor and embarrassing."
