The Plough At Leigh

The restaurant is in a very quiet rural area, reached down narrow country lanes, making it a lovely setting. The food was nice but not spectacular, the service was good despite being busy, but it was expensive for what it was.

Excellent pub lunch stop on the way to Rye. Ten mins off the A21. Fish cakes sweet potato fries were delicious. Baguettes also good. Friendly welcome service. Dogs welcome. Nice garden. Plenty of car parking. Quiet spot down the lanes.

We had an afternoon family buffet for 25 people in the restaurant area. Everything was lovely plenty of parking (maybe not the case if there was a wedding in the Barn); pleasant surroundings; friendly staff (they were very tolerant as we made access to their kitchen difficult at times); and a tasty, well presented finger buffet.

Since our son his wife decided to have their Reception at The Plough we've had 100% reliability from the team there! They have been warm welcoming, reassuring highly professional! Before, during after the event we had every confidence the Reception would go well now enjoy some very happy memories! We highly recommend this venue look forward to returning in the future with friends for other family occasions!

Wow, wow, wow!!! This place is amazing. We went for dinner on a wet Tuesday evening but were greeted warmly by the host, nothing was too much trouble for her. Despite so few customers it was warm and comfortable with a roaring log fire. The service is the best we have experienced in the area and the food was simply the best we have had in a long, long time and such good value at two courses from their set menu for £15. Even the music being played in the bar was great. If you want a great evening out in a friendly, local pub with absolutely fantastic food the you have to visit The Plough, at Hildenborough you won't regret it!

We booked the Barn at the Plough at short notice for a celebration of my mother’s life after she died suddenly in the summer. The staff could not have been more accommodating, sympathetic kind and professional. Both in the lead up and on the day everyone went out of their way to help, supplying specific drinks and amazing food. my daughter and my son in law married on Friday 18 March 2022, where we hired the pub and the club for the whole day and night. from the booking of the venue in juli 2020 until the event the plough was so helpful. This pub, in a rural setting just outside Tonbridge, has a lot going for it spacious beamed interior, beautiful gardens, huge car park and friendly efficient service. The menu has a good variety of dishes. I had a cod burger which was delicious: light crispy batter with succulent fish in a brioche bun simply dressed with mayo and lettuce. It sounds simple but was so good I'd like to go back and eat it again tomorrow! you just can't blame the plough, from the first time I visited, I was blown away from the fantastic team and the stunning venue. I was looking for a rustic but elegant shiny vibe and from the beginning the team understood my vision and helped bring everything to life.
