"This is normally the best sunday lunch in Minehead. But the last time it was not so great. We were met by a lady, clipboard in hand asking if we had booked for the carvery (no time to order a drink beforehand). Anyway we had booked and were allowed to go to the bar where our friends awaited us. To the meal, the meat was cooked well as always, but shock horror no roast potatoes left. Well out came a bowl swimming in oil with deep fried potatoes in, which marred the experience somewhat. But treated this as a one off as I said earlier this offers the best sunday lunch in Minehead."

Best carvery we ever had! Tender juicy meat, perfect roasties and the gravy exceptional. Recommended to book as its popular. View menu

Long wait for a drink it's a large bar but only served 1 side? Hence queuing. Barman moaning to a local about too many tourists turning up at once? How bizarre

As Americans, we were told we needed to try a proper Sunday Roast in Britain. The Queen's Head certainly delivered! Fantastic meats, great side dishes, and the best horseradish we've tasted!

Unfortunately, this restaurant is only open on Fridays through Sundays, which is disappointing. It has a cozy, local atmosphere with amenities like a pool table, darts, and jukebox that are becoming rare nowadays. We stopped by for a drink and enjoyed sitting in the outdoor seating area. The staff made us feel very welcomed. View menu

Visited here for lunch, pub not too busy but had to wait a long time for the food. The lady behind the bar was not particularly welcoming and we felt it was an inconvenience ordering food. When the food did arrive the scampi was over cooked and burnt and one plate was missing the peas and we had no tartar sauce. We didn't want to send it back as we were all so hungry from waiting. Maybe just an off day but will probably try another pub on our next visit.

I was looking forward to treating my friends last Friday as Ive eaten here lots and struggled to chose a dish due to the deliciousness. Sitting quite smug imagine my horror when our meals came. My belly pork was tough as old boots with floppy crackling, lees fagotts were mediocre served with still frozen peas whilst Rhys's coleslaw just turned his tummy. Obviously change of chefs and managemenr. We voiced our feedback and they took on board. We left not wanting deserts and paid in full....just disappointed I gues it can only get better

"Yet again we needed to celebrate having resolved a long standing technical problem. The pub in Brompton Regis came up in discussion the evening before when our neighbour was around for a glass of wine. He said that before coming to our village he’d looked at houses in Brompton Regis. He left and we booked a table. Friday was a damp day but we were not deterred as we drove up into the Brendon Hills, usually distant views greet one but this day the clouds were dominant. However as we descended from Roborough Gate towards Wimbleball Lake we could turn off the wipers. By the time we crossed the bridge at the top of the lake a shaft of sun broke through and sparkled across the surface of the water whilst light wisps of mist kissed the shore line. Rounding the churchyard wall always raises our expectations for there is the George Inn. The bar door was hardly open before Tash, a beaming smile, greeted us with a price board for ‘COFFEE’. I said in my previous review that I wouldn’t mention coffee at the George again, sorry, but I must. The coffee machine had arrived the day before. Well done Tripadvisor the George! We had a wonderful starter of Baba Ganoush, new to the menu that day. It was exceptionally good with delicate flavour. Following on was chicken breast and pasta with tomato sauce, again great flavour though my wife found it a little too greasy. My Bengal curry was fantastic and a most generous serving. Our ‘Desert,’sic, was Chocolate Ganache with pistachio ice cream under crunched nuts. I had the steamed maple syrup pudding set in a delicious whisky sauce, a very delicate and light texture, just right to finish on after the curry! Of course we had our long awaited espressos from the new device, a delicious finale to our meal. Earlier in walkers had dropped in wanting a coffee. Now all on Exmoor should be heading to the George for their ‘hit’."
