"We attended a family party here, and our experience was outstanding. What friendly, kind and helpful people! Katie is a superb host and made sure everyone was brilliantly looked after. The room was beautifully decorated, with wonderful flowers and we were welcomed with a glass of prosecco. After half an hour of catching up with friends and family, we sat down to the most delicious lunch. The roast beef (it was Sunday) was melt in the mouth, and so tender. Blackberry and apple crumble was just as good, a perfect balance between sweet and tart. The staff were amazing so friendly and efficient. It was flawless. Congratulations to everyone at Queens Inn: we will certainly be back."

Visited here for Sunday lunch yesterday with family, amazing food, good choice on menu, good size portions, brilliant, efficient service from our 2 young waitresses. Would definitely recommend will be back.

A fabulous place to eat, drink sleep! Stayed overnight just before Christmas and can’t fault it one bit. Staff, food, rooms, all top quality! Well done to all and we will definitely be returning next time we’re in the area

We had our anniversary dinner at this restaurant. We don't get to go out often due to childcare, so we were hoping for a special experience and we were not let down. The service was excellent, the menu was creative and extensive, and the ambiance was inviting, inclusive, and stylish. It was the perfect combination of a local pub and an upscale restaurant. We will definitely be returning. Thank you. X

My experience at the Queen's Inn for Sunday lunch today was very disappointing. Despite the lovely building, the cold restaurant and slow service left much to be desired. After a mix-up with our orders and a long wait, the food was finally served but was of poor quality. The staff seemed disorganized and the overall experience was a letdown. I may need some time before considering a return visit to this once great inn.

Excellent food, very friendly and efficient staff, great selection of beers and reasonably priced Sunday lunch. The menu clearly states that the beef and lamb is served red, so beware. I love it like that. The Mixed Roast was fabulous with well cooked sides of cauliflower cheese and red cabbage. Even the gravy was excellent. The Yorkshire pud is huge. Didn’t need a starter as decided to go for the pudding. So the litmus test is would I go back…….absolutely yes.

Excellent evening. Friendly and helpful staff, lovely surroundings and outstanding food. The fish and chips was apparently one of the best my father has eaten, the roasted cauliflower was superb and the lamb was cooked to perfection. Many more great things could be said about the starters, puddings and cheese but you get the idea. Eat here and you won't be disappointed whether you are a fan of traditional pub fare or are after something a little more sophisticated.

A slightly random review as it’s about a side salad. The pub was good, the food delicous, nice toilets etc as you’d expect. The thing that makes it a 5 star review was the side salad. Best my husband and I have had anywhere. Not just a bit of lettuce, cucumber and tomato, but avocado, radish and peppers too with a tasty dressing. Side salads are often an afterthought and pretty basic, but this showed this place cared about what they served. We’ll be visiting again.

Delicious quality food that rather surprised me! Great atmosphere in this spacious pub/restaurant/hotel. I'd never ventured in before and was really impressed with the cleanliness and quality throughout. The staff were all friendly and service swift and helpful. My choice of the chicken supreme, perhaps sounded ordinary, but it was a treat for the taste buds with rosemary potatoes, carrot jus and gravy and beautifully presented. My partner opted for the beer battered fish and chips and reckoned it was some of the best he had had.

The Queen's Inn is a great spot for dinner, and exceeded our expectations. The lovely old building looks beautiful on the High Street. When you first step in, it may seem a bit tired and unclear if it's a bar or a restaurant. However, the charming and enthusiastic staff made us feel welcome and the food was excellent. I enjoyed the perfect pork belly combo, while Mrs. had an excellent steak. The experience was definitely better than expected and we were pleased to keep it that way. They also offer an excellent selection of wines by the glass.

"Firstly I would like to say that this restaurant has just been refurbished, and it didn’t feel like an Italian restaurant, more like a cafe at the beach somewhere! It felt very sparse and most Italian restaurants I e been to have proper tablecloths on the table but these were plastic and I noticed one table it was tapped up underneath, in my opinion it needs to be made more warmly and have more of a family feel. The food was really nice, although I would advise anyone to make sure they double check their order as I chose chicken in a sauce really nice which came with vegetables but I also asked for a separate portion of potatoes, when it arrived I just had chicken with a few cut up potatoes and a very very small garnish of salad ! I mentioned this to the waitress who had taken our order and she said I know but the chef had given you extra salad !! Sorry but salad is not vegetables , it clearly said on the menu it came with vegetables. Having said about the above issue, the meals we all had were nice and the staff gave us a very warm welcome and because of the blip they said we could have a free pudding…..not sure if we all did or it was just mine but I never see the bill as we were treated to this. To finish the evening off we were given a lovely limoncello shot. We would definitely go back. Thankyou for a lovely evening in your restaurant"

"Popped in for a late lunch with my wife and sat in the garden in the sunshine. Friendly bar staff. Both had the mussels starters which were ok and the bread was nice. My wife had the surf and turf main, priced at £40, which...surely would deliver at that price. Sadly not. The lobster was ok but the steak, cooked rare as requested, was grey, under seasoned and tasteless. She didn't finish it and didn't even bother asking for a doggy bag. She felt it was the worst steak she had ever eaten. I went for the chicken fajitas which arrived sizzling on a platter. The chicken was dry, massively under seasoned and the red peppers and onions weren't cooked properly. The salad I didn't even touch as it was so painfully boring to look at. My three tortillas were like cardboard and I ate just half of one and then gave up. Chips were only randomly cooked through so we both left most of those also. We gave feedback to the waitress when she cleared the table and went to pay. Whilst paying at the bar the licensee went behind the bar without acknowledging us in the slightest and told the lady taking our payment to take the fajitas off the bill. No apology; not even the time of day was paid to us. He even said to her tell them the fajitas have been taken off the bill'...why on earth he couldn't tell us directly is beyond me! It was rude beyond belief. We paid and left. Over the years we have been to many carvers, seafood evenings and meals out with family and friends at The Black Horse. I will never step through the door again and waste my money. I will do my utmost to make sure that anyone who asks why will learn the truth. What a dreadful experience!"
