"the weather was absolutely terrible. märz, felt more like December. none of us really felt as if we had decided to go for lunch. we have decided to go to red hard, we have often been before, always with a warm welcome and a nice smile and received nice eating. unfortunately not with this opportunity. there was no smiling that had either sharon (landlady, who had doubled as a cook/wash by the look of the dinge) or laura, waiting for all tables, including a big party. they were busy (thank you we had booked a table in advance), but to be greeted by a dead face when we smile at a smile and a hi used to how they are not the best welcome. sad was eating a big one too. hubby didn't ask a cauliflower with his pork and sneepmaic. the cauliflower has been replaced by carrots, but there were still strands of cauliflower with the exfoliated, fortunately he has no allergy (it is something like a cauliflower allergy, he can't just stand out! the maic was simple, no scavenging, and the pig was over boiled. I ordered birne, stelton and walnut cake. what arrived were two precooked tart cases with a Stelton blob (can not see any blue two walnut halves in each and although I could see a pear slit in each, it could not taste. my carrot peels were thicker. littlest foodie ordered steak sandwich that was a steak on a ziabbata that was so over boiled and dry it was unusable. all the dishes came with fries that could have been of macdonalds. What happened to you? I hate to leave such a bad review, but there was no atmosphere, although they were busy, a friendly smile costs nothing. unfortunately we will not come back soon."

I participated in the Blaisdon 10k race, which began and ended at this wonderful pub. The pub offers a great selection of Real Ales, tasty BBQ food, and a warm and friendly welcome to all. Hats off to them!

We stopped here for lunch and it was lovely. The chap behind the bar was chatty and friendly and the waitress was super. The food was great, we both had a sandwich and they came with the most amazing chips! Will definitely be stopping here again!

Wonderful local. Great pub grub, friendly staff and it’s obviously loved by the locals. It was freezing during our few days stay at the local B&B so it was lovely to walk in and sit by the wood burner. Would highly recommend. We didn’t book a table but it was busy so would recommend booking.

After a nice family stroll, we found this pub to be the perfect spot to unwind and savor some delicious food. The menu is diverse with excellent vegetarian choices, kid-friendly portions, and beautifully presented dishes. The pub also has a fantastic play area for children and outdoor seating. I highly recommend it for a Sunday lunch.

Everything very average for the price, apart from the service and my friends fish looked good and plentiful. Although throwing cutlery on the table at you might not be everyone's idea of nice service! Don't bother with the currys. Not a great choice of beers and none of them were very local, as far as I could see. The three I had were very similar. It's not just this pub our local food standards seem to have dropped this year.

We had a brilliant evening here. The menu was different from the last time we visited and I ordered falafel to start and my partner had the crispy beef. Both were lovely, good portion sizes and well presented. The mains were very good. Belly pork and Mac and cheese. The max and cheese came with salad and garlic bread, both were lovely and the GB was homemade. My partner loved the pork, it was perfectly cooked. We had the rugby on so the atmosphere was great and all of the staff are lovely. Really happy to chat and interact suggesting nice drinks etc. Really would recommend and we are looking forward to coming back.

My daughter and I visited this pub a few months ago. We had heard that the food could be a bit of a hit-and-miss affair. However on this occasion we had a lovely meal. We met the proprietor who seemed a very pleasant chap. Last Sunday we went for lunch 7 of us. Well. Unfortunately, on this particular day it was definitely a miss. The Turkey was very good, but unfortunately a couple ordered roast beef which was tough and hard to eat. 1 person did not eat her meal at all. Roast potatoes were hard and the roast parsnips done to a crisp. A very tiny sausage in a small piece of bacon and a tiny round ball of stuffing was what constituted the trimmings. My son in law ordered a latte, which was wea...
