"We decided to give this pub a try because it was close to home. While we enjoyed our meal, we found that the lunch menu was quite limited compared to the dinner menu. Our shared starter of pate with white toast was decent, but we would have preferred brown wholemeal toast. My fish and chips, as well as my husband's steak pie, were both tasty. However, the chocolate torte for dessert seemed store-bought. The room we were seated in was not well-heated, despite a fire in the far room. The service was good, with a friendly and chatty waitress. The prices were reasonable, but we didn't see much evidence of locally sourced or homemade ingredients. We may wait for better weather and a wider selection of dishes before deciding to return."

Tonight I am really enjoying the Christmas ambience and they have a lovely beer called tickety brew. Bar staff were particularly very pleasant and attentive

Food overpriced compared to others in the area, evening menu choice small, food ok but not amazing not much meat in steak pudding and very thick pastry, room at back and behind bar cluttered, it’s a pub with restaurant not a jumble sale

Despite our disorganization this year, we had a wonderful Mother's Day lunch at this restaurant. Thank you for accommodating our last-minute booking and being flexible with our picky four-year-old. The food was delicious, and the staff was so helpful and friendly. We are thrilled to have found you and will definitely be returning soon. Thank you. View menu

An enjoyable lunch the food was good and all my colleagues enjoyed their choices. The experience was however negatively affected by the poor payment processes the internet connection afforded to the staff was rather dodgy so contactless payments were patchy. Thankfully I'd got enough cash to pay so avoided continued embarrassment and delay in getting back to my colleagues. Hope that investment in a better router will mean that future customers don't have the same problems delaying their payments.

We had a wonderful Sunday roast at this restaurant. Booking a table for 10 on Mothering Sunday was not ideal, but the staff were very accommodating and suggested pre-ordering to ensure we could get our first choices. The portions were generous, delicious, and served hot, with a great selection of vegetables. The apple crumble for dessert was particularly delicious, and our children loved the garden area. The staff were all friendly and engaging, even when the kids were noisy. Overall, we had a lovely meal and will definitely return in the future.
