"My wife , myself and 8 year old Grandaughter spent one night here so we could break up our journey on our way to Kelso . What a pity it wasn't longer . From the second we arrived the hosts could not have been nicer. We booked a meal as we were arriving early evening. Braised steak for us and Chicken For our Grandaughter. The food was fantastic. Proper home made old fashioned grub. Afterwards we spent some time in the extremely cosy lounge . Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for Susie and Curt. The level of service was like nothing we have experienced before. We stayed in the large family room which like everywhere was immaculately clean and had a great sleep in the comfortable bed . I would highly recommend The Red Lion to anyone visiting this beautiful area. Only I'm not shouting too loud in case you book when we want to return."

We enjoyed our meal at the Red Lion (recommended by our B&B hosts), enjoying butternut squash and coconut soup and fish and chips (it was Friday). It was a pleasant place to eat (except for the 1980s pop music perhaps).

The best place! What a huge amount of effort Susie and Curt put into this place. The rooms are amazing spotlessly clean, huge comfy bed, lovely shower. And the friendliest hosts, even down to Hugo the dog. Thanks for a fab stay see you again soon.

An excellent, well presented and tasty meal. Simple food excellently cooked. The macaroni cheese, chicken and chips and the scotch pie were delicious. Superb, friendly service. They had even decorated the table with birthday confetti. We were made to feel so welcome. Their were some moreish cakes and we had the coffee and walnut and the lemon drizzle cakes with coffee. We will definitely be back.

We where on the way up to Scotland and decided to stay overnight . We where not disappointed . The hosts are fantastic and the place is lovely and clean . We also ate here and the food was nice and would highly recommend paying the small supplement for the Scottish breakfast although the continental one is also great . We had a great night in the bar which was made more enjoyable by the landlady . All in all it's a great place to stay .

Dropped in to pub on an overnight stay in Earlston. Was Thai food evening the pub was full and we should have booked. However they found a table for us. Really good food. But it was the atmosphere and the warmth of the staff/owners that made it so special. We were on our way to our sons wedding and this made such a good start to our weekend Hard to describe just how special this place is but definetely visit if you can. Wish it was our local
