"The focus here seems to be heavily on food, with a large menu that includes the Sunday roast platters as an additional offering. The extensive nature of the menu raised some concerns for me, as I believe that kitchens can usually handle only about five or six dishes cooked to order without compromising quality. We had made a reservation, but despite the bustling atmosphere on a Sunday lunchtime, many tables were still available. The roast platters appeared to be a popular choice, looking quite enticing for those who enjoy a large serving of food. I chose the haddock, chips, and mushy peas, which came with tartare sauce and a small bowl of ketchup. The fish was fairly fresh, and the batter was nice and crispy. However, the chips left much to be desired; they would have been better described as roast potatoes. They were acceptable but not what you expect when ordering fish and chips. Both ladies opted for the fish cakes, served with a salad and crème fraîche dip on the side. Their feedback was that it was okay but somewhat bland and uninteresting. The beer selection was standard, but my pint of Sussex was perfectly fine. The other patrons were a mix of locals, including several large family groups and a few couples. Overall, this is not a pub I would go out of my way to return to, primarily due to its lack of atmosphere and general blandness. If you're driving, I’m sure you can find better options nearby. I’d rate it about 3 stars."

Has a seperate vegan menu with delicious food. Staff were great. Great range of drinks. The back yard was beautiful to sit in. Had a really lovely time and couldn't fault a thing.

The restaurant offers a dedicated vegan menu filled with delicious options. The staff was fantastic, and there was a wide variety of drinks to choose from. The backyard provided a lovely space to relax. I had a wonderful time and couldn't find anything to fault.

I had the plant based burger. The burger was not cooked properly so it was just mushy. I also had the side of broccoli and asparagus, it was pretty much plain and boring even they say they put soy sauce. Make sure to call before going as they do not currently have the vegan menu, august 2020. The staff were kind, helpful and understanding. View menu

I ordered a burger, but it was undercooked and quite mushy. I also had a side of broccoli and asparagus, which felt rather plain and unexciting. They mentioned adding soy sauce, but it didn’t enhance the dish much. Just a heads up, they currently don’t have a vegan menu available, as of August 2020, so it’s best to check before you go. On a positive note, the staff were friendly, helpful, and understanding.

I ordered a burger, but unfortunately, it was undercooked and quite mushy. I also tried the side of broccoli and asparagus, which was rather plain and unexciting; they mentioned adding soy sauce, but it didn't add much flavor. Please note, as of August 2020, they currently do not offer a vegan menu, so check ahead if that's important to you. On a positive note, the staff was friendly, helpful, and understanding.

Went there following positive online reviews. The places looks amazing and the staff seemed good enough, the food on the other end I could have done with better. I decided on the plant based burger, it was a small slice of lettuce, a small slice of tomato on top of a creamy coconut sauce (not sure about that either) with a patty half a standard size in a large seeded bun for £12.50, no vegan mayo available. Expensive and small, my friend went for the nut roast as a veggie, same story. View menu

The village has undergone quite a transformation over the past 20-30 years, and the pub has evolved along with it—it's a sign of progress. It still has the capacity to accommodate a large number of guests and offers a respectable selection of beers. Once known for being a bit cliquish, it now successfully welcomes motorists and tourists alike. Its location is convenient for visitors coming from the A24 and Billingshurst Road. We enjoy returning there as it holds many fond memories of the old village. It's definitely worth checking out the food, which is decent, though you might experience a wait on busy days.

I visited this restaurant after reading some positive reviews online. The ambiance was lovely and the staff appeared friendly; however, my dining experience left a bit to be desired. I ordered the plant-based burger, which consisted of a few small pieces of lettuce, a slice of tomato, and a creamy coconut sauce (which I wasn't particularly fond of). The burger patty was about half the standard size, and it was served in a large bun, all for £12.50. I was disappointed that there was no vegan mayo available. My friend opted for the nut roast as a vegetarian choice, and unfortunately, his experience was similar. Overall, it was a nice setting, but the food didn’t quite meet expectations.

"Firstly it is always good to get an itemised bill. We ordered two teapots, two light lunches (veg tart and salad, coronation chicken with jacket , and two cakes. The bill came to 25.35 which was probably right but it is nice to check. This figure was written on a piece of paper and we were sent to the other till to pay it. When the tea arrived we noticed a brown rim on the inside of one of the cups. Perhaps it had ended up in the wrong pile in the kitchen but it had not been washed properly so had to get this changed . Not a good sign in these days of Covid. I then noticed that both the little pots of tea were only just over half full why? We did not complain about this too as did not want to spoil the experience. Our food came and quite modest potions. The jacket potato was a bit yellow on the inside as if it had been baked to an inch of it's life, the coronation chicken was good and my wife's veg tart was quite tasty. I was still hungry at the end so I ordered a veg tart too . 5.95 . I also brought the tea pots back for a top up of water (and was asked if we wanted tea? and then noticed that they had given us about a third of a pot of water. After spending 31 you would have thought that would have been okay but water must be mighty expensive in Pulborough. My feeling was that overall it was okay but a bit mean spirited. It is not the sort of place that you would go out of your way to drive to, but if you are thirsty and peckish in Pulborough it is in a good location."
