But if, like me, you’re a solo diner in search of a pre-show meal close to the Barbican, it’s worth knowing that, at on a weeknight, this is a loud-thumpy-music post-work-drinks bar and you will be plonked in the middle of all that, surrounded by people who obliviously leave their bags and empty glasses on your table while shouting their conversations over your shoulder. Things seemed to be quietening down (crowd-wise if not music-wise) by when I was leaving, and if want you want is a shouty night out then it’s probably great. But approach with caution."

We booked a table however weren't advised there was no availability for anyone because of an event, so were turned away at the door.

Booked this restaurant through OpenTable, turned up and the kitchen was closed. Had booked for a partner's family visit too so quite embarrassing. Luckily, there was somewhere to eat nearby. Avoid! View menu

the raffinerie was also busy on Tuesday night. everything started well with an espresso martini. the mini sliders were also delicious and the free kombucha was a surprise. it took a few minutes to get the attention of the waitress to order my food and the same to get the bill. I dressed my coat and paid on the bar.

My team had a great time at The Refinery for our Christmas party. We enjoyed the atmosphere and music. The food was decent, although it may not be perfect for everyone due to the large crowd. The Christmas pudding could have used more custard, as it was quite flavorful. Overall, we had a wonderful time and will definitely return to try their daily menu.
