"After all the complications of the past year, we were finally able to reconnect with family and decided to treat ourselves to a private hot tub and dinner. Everything was booked in advance, and we specifically requested a bottle of sweet Prosecco to be ready for us in the hot tub. We were assured, “No problem, just let us know when you arrive, and we’ll prepare the drink.” This was meant to be a special treat for our family, whom we hadn’t seen in over a year. On the day of our visit, however, the spa staff seemed unaware of our drink request and only offered us cider, wine, or gin. We asked for simple Gin and Tonics and proceeded to enjoy the hot tub while we waited. Unfortunately, our drinks did not arrive for 30 minutes. The staff tried to make amends by giving us two drinks free due to the delay, but this was just the beginning of a frustrating evening. After the hot tub, we moved to the restaurant for dinner. When we arrived, we asked if heaters and blankets were still available for outdoor seating. We ordered drinks, but not everything on the menu was in stock and the waiter struggled to suggest alternatives. We also requested blankets. When we ordered our meals, we asked for the heaters to be turned on, only to be informed that we were seated under a non-functioning heater. After several inquiries, the waiter reluctantly agreed to let us move to another table, but we had to relocate everything ourselves without any assistance. Despite these setbacks, we remained optimistic, believing that good food could make us forget the issues. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment came next. We ordered three medium tomahawk steaks, but received three steaks cooked to different levels: one medium, one medium-well, and one rare. I received the rare one, which was too undercooked for my preference. When the waiter checked on us, I pointed out that my steak was not cooked to medium. I sent back three-quarters of it without any feedback or comment from the chef. Desserts were then served by a different waiter, and I couldn't inquire about my steak until we requested the bill. The waiter who brought the bill told me, “It was done the way you asked for it.” When you’re treated well and receive good food, you can overlook a messy table. However, when the staff seems more concerned about mingling with their friends at another table than attending to your needs, it becomes too much. Fortunately, there are plenty of other restaurants in the area that would appreciate our £300 spending and provide better service."
