"Situated on Lanark Road in Currie, The Riccarton Inn is a charming traditional pub and restaurant that offers a delightful selection of real ales, whiskies, and gins. The menu showcases a variety of British dishes. I highly recommend trying the cullen skink as a starter - a delicious smoked haddock and potato soup in a creamy broth. For my main course, I opted for the steak and mushroom pie with vegetables and chips, followed by two scoops of dairy ice cream and coffee. I enjoyed a bottle of Italian white wine with my meal. The total bill came to much less than I would have expected to pay in the city, and I left the restaurant feeling completely satisfied."

If you especially appreciate historic architectural charm, as I do, this hotel is a gem: the mezzanine bar featuring a beautiful outdoor balcony, and the

Stopped by after a walk in the Pentlands and had a great experience! Warm ambiance, great food and decent prices. Also good service and dog friendly. Will definitely be back if in the area!

Lovely location just outside the hustle and bustling city, not too long of a drive into the city either. The staff were friendly and the room was lovely and cosy. The bed was amazing and overall had a great weekend away. I’d definitely stay here again!

The food was delicious and the service was very good, especially considering how busy the restaurant was. It was quite noisy as we were seated in the bar area, making it difficult to have conversations at times. I would recommend requesting a table in the restaurant area for a quieter experience next time.

Stayed here for a few days to see Edinburgh. Very welcoming and the food is hearty, great after big hikes. The breakfast was great each time and I love replacing the same old black pudding I'm used to from England with a round haggis. Good that there are still soulful inns like this in the modern day to enjoy. Saw people from all over the world stay here during my visit. Very interesting. Big thanks from Manchester.

Stayed for a nearby wedding, so the location was only relevant to that and it was ideal. Service was excellent, especially from Julie, who seems to do pretty much everything! The room was clean and tidy, with plenty of teas coffee. Towels in the bathroom were superb, but if you're not going to provide shower gel etc., it would have been useful to know that in advance. Happy to recommend and would certainly use again if in the area.

First and foremost, it is called the Riccarton Inn and not the Ricarton Inn. Setting that minor detail aside, the staff were helpful and flexible by providing coffee early in the morning at a reasonable price, even though they were preparing for lunch service. The lunch itself was freshly cooked and delicious. The only minor complaint would be that the fish and chips were placed on top of the mushy peas and lemon slice, initially hiding them. Overall, we would gladly go back!
