"Visited after a day out in London, arrived late due to torrential rain and train disruption but the welcome could not have been nicer. There was a party going on and a live band, the atmosphere was great and the staff were so friendly, felt like a great big family. Food was typical pub grub, flavoursome and hearty portions I had the steak and Stilton pie, absolutely beautiful. It felt like a real community hub, there was a Royal British Legion raffle, and tables with poppies and all the other RBL merchandise to buy, but no pressure, Just a lovely evening and I would definitely recommend it! Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Roast Dinner, Pudding, Calamari Rings, Steak and Stilton Pie of the Day"

I visited this restaurant for Boxing Day lunch yesterday, and it was fantastic! The service was excellent, and the food was served hot and delicious. The bratkartoffeln were to die for, and the homemade puddings were beautiful. The atmosphere was very cozy and friendly as well. I would highly recommend this place! View menu

Yesterday, we visited the pub to watch the semifinal of the football World Cup between England and Croatia. The food was homemade and fantastic. I ordered the sausage pie, which was incredible. The prices were quite reasonable, and the portions were generous. The service was excellent, and the locals made us feel very welcome as we joined in the football festivities. Let's just say the score was less than ideal, but overall, it was a great experience. View menu

For vegetarians, there is a solid range of gluten-free and vegan choices available, both for main courses and desserts. Parking was easy with plenty of available space. The venue is also kid-friendly, featuring a play area in the beer garden. Overall, we found the experience to be very affordable, with an estimated cost per person ranging between £10 and £20. both our family and our dog were made to feel really welcome. I was particularly impressed by the manage and great service we received. some of the high-brow restaurants that charge the earth could be a lection of the young man who serves us our food. service was polite and efficient and yet unobtrusive. also the bar staff was excellent. they were very friendly and accommodating for our dog and it felt like a really dog-friendly environment. eating was good and the desserts excellent. Thank you!

"I had a booking with a group of friends. We were warmly greeted at the door and asked if we had made a reservation. We were primptly asked if we would like anypoppadoms and dr8nks which these arrived swiftly. Being a Saturday night, we made sure we had reserved a table 8pm and secondly, as we were a big group. We arrived in plenty of time for our booking and were happy to wait for the table. The restaurant was full, which is lovely to see I the current economic climate. The fine detail of fresh flowers on the table and in the waiting area added a personal touch and ambience. The staff were very helpful with talking trouugh the menu and especially the lovely young lady that asked us what heat and spice level we were used to. She had a great knowledge of the menu and was able to talk us through the dish, and suggested that if we like the sound of a dish then they could ask the chef to cater for thier own level of spice as the dishes were made fresh to each individual order. The food was of. Excellebt quality and great portion sizes. As well as the presentation was outstanding , and going the extra mile was aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The dish wee had was a mixture of the lounge specials Dum Akhni, Dum Gosth, Lamb Chop Bhuna, and salmon tikka with a mixture of vegetables side dish and nans We all shared and loved the great food. Will definitely be visiting you again, soon rather than later. Thank you so much for a lovely, enjoyable evening."
