"Following a disappointing experience at the restaurant, a return visit was made in hopes of improvements after a recent renovation. The refurbishment was extensive in both layout and design, although there are mixed opinions on the banquet seating which seems to take up a lot of space for just one person. Unfortunately, the famous cob sandwiches are still not up to their previous standards. Additionally, the quality of the beer was lacking. The management appears unconcerned and preoccupied with their own group, which can be frustrating for customers trying to enjoy the sports on TV. It is disheartening to see the decline in quality after years of enjoying this pub in Leicester."

Handy watering hole not far from the bus station and city centre. They usually have a wide selection of craft beers available.

Met up with friends on Saturday night before moving on to a restaurant. Always feel at home here and quite comfortable popping in on my own for one if in town.

One of the best little pubs in Leicester unspoilt just as a pub should be well done Alex and staff always a friendly welcome and a good selection of beers and cobs .

The amount and taste of the cheese rolls and beer were disappointing compared to previous visits. There was hardly any cheese in the rolls and the red onion beer was overwhelming. It's time to step up and return to our usual standards, guys. View menu

The recent renovation at this restaurant is impressive, creating a comfortable and clean atmosphere. Our server, a friendly Irish man, was very polite and accommodating. The outdoor garden area is also lovely, and the working heaters are a bonus. We will definitely be returning.

The Salmon is very near to St Margaret's Bus Station and Highcross Shopping Centre in the heart of the city. It is a typical old style real ale bar with an excellent range of draught beers available. It also has a small outdoor courtyard. I spent a very pleasant afternoon drinking out in the sunshine there.

Mitch and the other lads make this place the best pub in Leicester, it feels like a local village pub and balances traditional and effortlessly cool just perfectly! The beer garden and vegetable patch are just lovely! Cannot rate this place enough. The staff give exceptional service and social distancing is 10/10. View menu

If you want a pub that's close to the bus station and the High Cross shopping centre, then this is the place for you. The beers are in excellent condition and the service friendly and efficient. The Severn Trent beer is especially unique and reflects the publican, Alex's, sense of humour. Worth a wander as it's close to the clocktower, Just wander up Churchgate and it's on a road on the left. Happy Drinking!

Not been for a while and since Black Country took it over. Nice ‘ old fashioned’ fairly recently fitted out pub, some great beers including when visited , Oakham Inferno , one of my favourites!! Similar set up/ beers to the Kings Head in King St which is a sister Black Country pub. The available beer is clearly shown on a screen with type/ strength so no trying to work that out looking over someone’s shoulders at the bar. Sky sports on when I went as well. Think they sold cobs etc and have a small outside area. The location is a bit off pitch and in a bit of an area ripe for redevelopment but only few mins from the Highcross shopping centre .
