"Overnight stay at The Ship was great, room 24 had views across the Dee and as it was Novemebr 5th the evening sky was lit with a wide display of fireworks! A cool evening but the sash window opened wide which was a bonus. Traffic noise was not an issue in this room. A sound sleep on for me a comfortable bed. Plenty of hanging space with the wardrobe and bedside storage. The desk was functional with the tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom was spacious with a shower so for those who like a bath this would not be the room for you. All clean and felt housekeeping was doing their job. Staff friendly and made to feel welcomed. We did not take any refreshments other than what was in the room so cannot comment on that. An enjoyable short stay but welcomed and we will return, the cost of the room comapred to taxi rides makes it very affordable. The following morning drove from the large carpark refreshed an happy."

Really stylish place to stop for a drink or two). Lots of seating areas inside and outside. All very clean. Service with a smile and friendly. Great selection of wines by the glass. Did not eat here this time but food choice looked very good. Fabulous view across to Wales and marshes sitting outside in the evening.

Sunday lunch is very poor. Vegetables consisted of half a carrot, 6 green beans, red cabbage which was tasteless, 4 small roast potatoes, 2 pieces of beef and a Yorkshire pudding!! The price is £17.50p definitely not worth that much. Desert was strawberry mousse!! This was £7.25p equally disappointing in price and quality.

We recently visited this restaurant for the first time since it was renovated. The ambiance was delightful, but we were disappointed with the high prices. We ordered a prawn and crab fish sandwich and received a small piece of bread with a few prawns and crab fish, along with a small serving of rocket. The meal was not worth the expense, and it has deterred us from coming back in the future. Overall, we were very disappointed with our experience.

We were really looking forward to a Sunday lunch here as the menu sounded really appealing but sadly we were left feeling a little disappointed. Some staff were much friendlier and accommodating than others. The beef was nice but the carrots and green beans were terrible. There wasn’t much effort put into the veggie alternative roast dinner. The starters were hit and miss too, the meatballs were very chewy which was a shame ….in the end we decided to opt out of getting a pudding and went to Nicholls for ice cream instead.

My family and I had a delightful Sunday lunch at The Ship. Three of us ordered the roast beef, which was plentiful and delicious, served with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, and a great selection of vegetables. For dessert, we enjoyed peach melba, basque cheesecake, and chocolate brownie, all of which were delicious and generously portioned. The service was prompt and attentive without being overwhelming. The staff even accommodated a request for well-done roast beef instead of pink, which must have required some persuasion with the chef!

I believe the pub has had a refurb …..it’s gorgeous, on the Parade on the Dee Estuary , the historic pub has been featured on TV programmes . The interior is nautical and stylish , the upstairs balcony is a wonderful space to sit outside , trendy contemporary furniture with patio heaters if necessary . We had the local blonde ale …..delicious…. Definitely bringing the family back for a meal , the food and menu looked delicious, my husband eyed up the crab linguine….. This is a stylish contemporary pub , lots of couples areas in alcoves…dogs welcome in the bar , lovely rooms upstairs and down , 5*

We are local residents and recently dined at this restaurant with friends who were visiting. The menu offers a good variety of options to cater to different tastes. Each of us ordered different dishes and were pleased with our choices, which were nicely presented. Despite the restaurant being very busy on a Friday night, the service was efficient for both drinks and food, contrary to some other reviews. We had made a reservation in advance, as we doubted there would have been availability for walk-in guests that evening. The restaurant is popular due to its scenic location, offering great views across the estuary to North Wales. When we return, we plan to try the lunch menu. We also noticed...

"I booked a table for 2 really last minute on a busy December night, piccolio’s manger cosimo took the booking, he was so friendly and helpful that we really needed after a hard work in the cold winter weather! we went in and the restaurants that were breathtaking have woken us! the decor is stylish and above all it was so warm and cozy what we needed, we were greeted with smiles all around by every worker and was immediately taken on our table, without waiting time what ever! we were so swollen! Shortly after we sat, we tamara welcomed them beautiful, well presented and extremely polite. we thought up the menu, while tamara served us the most delicious Rosè Prosecco and took our orders. it was a hard choice, as we wanted to order one of all, the menu choices sound exquisite! so much choice and catering for all food requirements. my own and my friend decided to go for the spaghetti frutti di mare, which was absolutely inconceivable! muddle, mush and calamari topped with a huge garlic king prawn! it didn't take long until there were two empty teller and full bell! we stayed and talked together about the life and there was no hurry to move us from table to tamara has checked us we were so glad to have chosen piccolino chester for our girly dinner date and just wanted to say a massive thank you to cosimo, tamara and the piccolino team. I can't wait to come back to another fantastic evening."
