"located directly at the university campus, the star is a favorite of students looking for a fast bite or a cheap and ambitious night outside. I used to come with mates as a student and I remember a friendly, exciting atmosphere at night. I had particularly good nights when a chic dress or discos were set up here. as for the day it has a varied selection of food and drinks. the menu offers packaging, burger, jackkartoffeln, other pub favorites such as Sunday career to not mention the local favorite palmo. recently I had the Mexican burger and chips, but there is a thing that I must recommend to them to try. the star makes good parmos, great chips and their garlic sauce is d i w i n e. seriously not sure what they do, but it is probably my favorite food spot garlic of all time. the star is open Monday to Thursday 9 o'clock until 19:30 o'clock, while Friday 9-5 are open. Saturday is 10-5 clock and Sunday is 12:00-4:00 clock. Try it! (seriously- or the garlic)"

Always drink here. Great atmosphere. Never too busy or loud. Ordered food for first time and was disappointed at how under cooked it was. Will not be eating here again.

Had Sunday dinner here, food was good but very busy and struggled to get a table. Dinner was carvery style with a choice of four meats and a selection of vegetables and as many roasties as you want just a shame no parsnips!

Decent pub if you go at the right time. Not a pub I would go to on a Saturday night! Good selection of beers and lagers etc. Big screen that shows all the football, with 2x pool tables also. Really can't go wrong for a pre match pub.

The place is a basic Brittish pub with beer and pub food. It's located in the university grounds so I expect it to be packed with students when the semester is on. Servings are big and hearty. You order and pay at the bar so no unnecessary waiting for the bill. Very casual.

as the owner said, 'big dog' mentioned in the rating below, I can 't stress enough as the personal does not allow dogs to wander around. first, my dog is well maintained and so smells pleasing. my dog was also at the top all the time and has no tables approached. I feel unfair to give a location a 1* review for the permission of dogs. Perhaps the gentleman below does not have the article online about the 'puppy party', which has been recently held to raise money for a local honing? regardless of which eating here has never disappointed me, the staff is efficient and friendly and I can only thank them enough for their hospitable since I have been pulled here.

"I’ve wanted to eat here since I moved north in November and it’ll be the first of many visits from now on. Our first time here with a table for 5 and all sharing meant we tasted a big section of the menu (see images of the menu). Each of the portions was very generous to say the least. What amazed us all we’re the complex flavour combinations. They were slightly weird on some but they all worked and very well too. Alkaline Nachos £10.95 Nachos with marinated baked quinoa, topped with refried beans, cashew sour cream, guacamole, pineapple salsa and pickled red cabbage. All with a smoked cashew cheese drizzle over. They were indulgent, sweeter than I’ve had before and had tangy twist too. BBQ Tacos £9.50 Shredded carrot in an alkaline BBQ sauce in a crispy corn shell, filled with refried beans and guacamole. Topped with pineapple salsa and pickled red cabbage, served with a side salad. Best BBQ tacos in the north so far. Thai Buddy Bowl £10.95 Orange teriyaki chickpea tofu surrounded by, pineapple 'fried ' quinoa, purple coleslaw, a thai side salad, with an almond and ginger dressing and quinoa falafels topped with mango chutney. Crazy flavours that worked really well. This was my favourite dish and I could eat this most days of the week. I’ll be back for this dish on its own. Thai Wrap £9.95 Quinoa and peanut butter falafels in a soft wrap with mango chutney, coleslaw and kimchi served with a thai side salad, with an almond and ginger dressing and pineapple quinoa. A mental combination of ingredients for a falafel but was amazing. Again, sweeter than I’d have imagined. Pink Pitaya Acai Bowl £5.50 A fruity smoothie bowl topped with raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, banana kiwi and coconut (we held the seeds). What an amazing breakfast. A real power breakfast too. Immunity Boost Juice £4.00 (x2) Strawberry, pear, apple and lemon juice. Refreshing and moreish. Tropical Sunrise Smoothie £4.50 Papaya, mango, orange, banana, coconut, maple and cashew smoothie. It was as nice as you’d expect and none of the fruits lost their identity due to the power of another. Peanut Butter and Jelly Smoothie £4.50 Strawberries, banana, peanut butter, maple and lemon smoothie. Another one that doesn’t quite sound right but really does. The peanut butter was not overpowering and provided a nice earthy grainy taste and texture, lifted by the sweetness of the fruit. A great experience and worth the wait. Would I recommend Ohhhhhh Yes"
