"I enjoyed the best fish at the Market Inn last night. Possibly the best I’ve tasted. Beautiful white, flaky moist fish in the lightest of batters. Traditional accompaniment of fresh chips, mushy peas, and some bread and (real) butter. They are beating the fish chip shops at their own game, and offering the warmest of welcomes into the bargain. The prices are really affordable, the atmosphere is great, and there was live music too. If there’s a better night out somewheretell me where. I’ll be back again soon."

This may very well be the best fish and chip meal I've ever had. The combination of perfectly cooked chips, fresh fish fried in the lightest batter, and minted mushy peas was simply outstanding. With a friendly host to top it all off, I can't imagine a better way to enjoy a Friday lunch. Price per person: £10–20 Food rating: 5/5.
