"I live locally to the Telegraph and have been there many times over the years. The proximity to Putney Heath and Wimbledon Common is great for a dog walk (since they 're allowed) before or after your meal. The downstairs sections and outside picnic tables are cozy. However, this time we were stuck upstairs with all the big group bookings. We were a smaller table of five put in the corner. It was loud and we were basically forgotten. I had to keep getting up to ask for things. Likewise, my daughter asked for no gravy on her roast and it came covered with gravy, which had to be sent back, and she also asked for an extra Yorkshire pudding, which they supplied but was burnt to a crisp. Lastly, they didn 't even have our booking from OpenTable, so CALL them as they said the systems aren 't linked! First time that 's happened to me through OpenTable, so I don 't understand how it works."

It's a bit tucked away but well worth a visit. Lovely setting, good food and great service. Particularly good for a lazy Sunday afternoon with lunch...

The food at this restaurant is reminiscent of a traditional pub, and the service matches that vibe. The lighting may be a bit harsh, but the decor is well-suited for a pub-like atmosphere.

If you live in London and you really hope to escape the busy city environment without going very far, the Telegraph is an excellent choice. The food is good and the beer garden in a hot summer's day is just all you need.

Decent location, though disappointing outdoor space. Chicken for Caesar Salad was from a packet. Huge portions can never compensate for lack of quality ingredients or imaginative cooking. Not dreadful but no reason to go back.

Requested the 'snug ' for a family of 5 get together so had our own area for the evening. Was quiet in the main bar (although there was a party going on in the usual downstairs dining area). Good food and service and would go again.

The Telegraph in Putney is a good upgraded pub. The menu is varied but not advertised in not having table service. Although not busy, slow delivery of food. However, all dishes for 7 people very good and would consider going again and recommending.

This is a quaint place a country pub tucked into the leafy lanes near Putney Common. Friendly booking over the phone. The starters/ sharing platers were generous, would recommend the whitebait. Eating alfresco has a charm and this is what the Telegraph scores the most points on, especially for its lovely garden. Mustn't forget the sticky toffee pudding.... Yum doesn't do that level of deliciousness justice. Will be back on a weeknight to try the pork belly.

Went for Sunday lunch, had to send the burger back as the bum was so stale it fell apart. We were then told that it was a seeded bun and that was how it was... Asked another waitress if they were doing anything to remedy this and we're told that she was too busy. Should have left when we walked in and saw others sending good back. Such a great venue that it's such a shame it's being run into the ground. And they seem to wash their glasses in orange juice... Filthy!

A birthday lunch was booked and all this worked very well. We opened a tab and food was promptly brought once ordered. Most of us had the Sunday lunch which was only OK. Meat was overcooked and rather dry ladled with a processed gravy and piled up on top of a soggy heap of vegetables (including the poor roast potatoes no longer crispy) and all topped off with Yorkshire pud (regardless of the meat I had lamb hm). But it was relaxed and the setting was great we went for a walk on Putney Heath and were able to park the cars so a nice day. I'd go again for something informal but not for a particularly special meal. Prices were fair.
