"Visits Sunday in hope to get a table for 3 (including our Greyhound) Unfortunately they were fully booked and we were told that it is best to book a few days before Sunday lunch. But they managed to find us a table in the bar and set it up for lunch. I found the White Bear to be a super land pub. The employees, including the owner Lee and his wife Sian, could not be more friendly and attentive. While the other customers, where very friendly and open to the conversation. It felt like you put your local pub in your foot. In fact, I would love this pub as my place. The food itself was hearty meals, very pleasant about a good beer and glass of wine (the dog makes dry January) and was a lot of choice, including a nut roast. Everywhere if you are looking for a quintessential English country pub. With good food, friendly staff and patrons. Then the white bear is by far the best choice."

There’s something special about this place that we absolutely adore. Unfortunately, it has now closed and is available for rent.

What a fab pub in lush surroundings. Great service and great food too. The staff are lovely and the manager Sian is incredible. Nothing is too much trouble. View menu

I absolutely loved this restaurant. It has a truly authentic pub vibe with fantastic food. There's plenty of space to sit indoors, and when the weather is nice, they offer outdoor seating as well. Price per person: £10–20. Food: 5/5. Service: 5/5. Atmosphere: 5/5. Highly recommended dish: Fish and Chips.

Overpriced food, had the pork belly roast most of it was fat. Yorkshire pudding was over cooked and beef was inedible. Waitresses are rude and customer service is awful! Chocolate brownie wasn’t nice for the price and had been microwaved. Used to go here years ago and it’s really gone down hill. Won’t be returning!!

This charming old country pub dates back to the 16th century, offering a lovely atmosphere. The staff is incredibly friendly and efficient. I enjoyed a delightful lunch with my friend Angela—thanks for that, Angela! I highly recommend this place for any occasion, as it has a great selection of food and drink options. View menu

I'm leaving this 5-star review to gently remind the renovation team that this is my favorite pub. You might be surprised by the history of this place and what it means to me. If you transform it into a typical modern, flashy venue for those who don’t think deeply, I will make it my mission to haunt your nightmares. Please, don’t change too much. Take good care of my beloved little spot, and I promise to love you forever. P.S. The last year was terrible. I visited once, and it broke my heart. Please don't let it happen again. xx

My cousin and I were on the lookout for a dog-friendly pub nearby, and the menu at The White Bear caught our attention. When we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming. As soon as they seated us in a lovely, secluded spot in the pub, I felt really special. However, when we noticed that we were sitting next to an open fireplace, I only heard them say, "Take a seat, and I'll get Lee to put out the fire." Suddenly, the atmosphere became super romantic, and I found myself wishing I could share this moment with my partner instead. But it's alright... I had the next best thing!
