"We visited The Fork Furrow yesterday with a family friend for Sunday lunch. The table was booked for 1.00pm so we were surprised to find that there were only 2 other tables occupied. We got our drinks very quickly and ordered our food. Nothing appealed to any of us on the starters menu so we decided to go for a mains and dessert. We ordered the food and waited and waited and waited. In my opinion, there really should be some appetisers on the menu for people not wanting starters if the mains are going to take so long to come through from the kitchen. On the menu it says the beef is cooked pink but mine was **** and because it had not been left to rest long enough, the blood was running into my mashed potato. The pork my friend ordered was actually a large pork chop without the bone, but she struggled to eat it without a steak knife so we took it home for the dogs. We also missed pigs in blankets not being offered as an additional extra, which is quite standard in most restaurants these days for Sunday lunch. Apart from the above though, we loved the new decor, the staff were all lovely too and the rest of our food was amazing!"

Although the food and presentation were good, not being asked how you like your meat cooked is not very good as a few members of my family could not eat theirs as it was way under cooked.

Had a stunning wedding. Location amazing, food fantastic and excellent service throughout. Katie and her team worked incredibly hard to ensure our wedding day was perfect. Highly recommend this venue!

Very disappointed to arrive for our date to find that the vegan menu had been totally scrapped apart from one dish. Do not understand why you would take away a fantastic menu that was delicious and and catered to a growing number of people. Will not be returning.

Four if us went for lunch on Saturday after a walk. We knew that the Sunday lunches were great and were blown away by the quality if our Saturday meals. Delicious locally produced lamb and beef cooked with care and flair. Everything was absolutely delicious. We can't wait to go again. Superb!

We had our wedding here and everything was perfect. The venue is beautiful, the staff are great. Everything was managed so well and everything went soo smoothly. Staff accommodated everything we asked for and made us feel really special. The hotel rooms are really nice and the whole experience was very memorable.

Lovely comfy and clean room however our restaurant experience was a disaster! Lamb came with blood all over the plate chips in a tub were rock hard £5 per portion) Steak was served in a bowl type plate, staff were useless and argumentative. Breakfast wasn't much better muesli was the only option no boxed cereal choice pastries were over cooked and cold. Scrambled egg was burnt !!!! Restaurant was empty. Friends took us here as their experience last year was great ! Obviously change of owner etc.

Used to come hear all the time food was fantastic nice atmosphere and good value, not cheap but definitely good value. Now it’s the fork and furrow the food is still fantastic but it’s lost it’s atmosphere and the service is shocking, the prices have gone through the roof and the portion sizes have shrunk. For example, Sunday roast great but no better than it used to be £21 and if you want coliflower cheese that’s an extra £7 for 1 portion. Dessert £9 chocolate moose, the whole thing fit on a dessert spoon and it came with a tea spoon of sorbet. Again very nice but nothing that special. I don’t mind paying those sorts of prices for good food but they need to be accompanied buy good service a...

"we enjoyed another very pleasant dinner at the Dog’ in pentrich recently. it is a very civilized but relaxed escaping area, and the type of place where people are miles for, for the culinary experience traveling and with good ground. eating is good. the dining room is spacious, contemporary and beautifully furnished with a relaxed ambiente. also the adjacent bar area is very cozy and cozy. we were warmly welcomed and immediately shown on our table. the service was attentive and pleasant, without being overlaid or intrusive. our meals were very pleasant and we enjoyed the selection of things we had (start, head and dessert). However, it seemed to be some unconsistencies with a portion size. with the appetizers the leek and the potato portion was very small a piece laek about two centimeters long filled with cheese and in a sea of sauce to convey the grasp of “more”. the crispy szechuan cauliflower and aubergine, on the other hand, contained large parts of the two components of the teller. similar to the net, the green thai chicken contained three very large portions of huh in different shapes: a large chicken breast as the main component of the Thai chicken shell, accompanied by a huge serving of shredded chicken in rice, and a huge Bao beer filled with a large piece of baked chicken. while the various components were delicious, it was just chicken overload, almost like three main dishes as one, and much too much. the same applies to the puddings we have chosen. the dog inn trifle was a huge bowl with lemon-rossel sponge, with white chocolate-creuzard, and celestial gel and sorbet. the yorkshire rhubarb cheesecake, on the other hand, was a very small roll of cheesecake with a puppy game of rhubarb sorbet and a few pieces of poached rhubarb. our meals were certainly delicious, and we enjoyed them. the hanger steak was cooked nicely after a discussion about it; it was clearly stated on the menu that the hanger steak was ‘Served ‘Pink or well Done’, but we were informed that it could not be ordered well. which condition is then on the menu? the dog is worth looking. it is in the beautiful and historical village pentrich, on the b1016 between the towns ripley and alfreton in derbyshire. we're coming back."
