"We just came for food, not use of the inn. This was a really good experience. My Nan had just come out of hospital, so we took her for a posh Sunday dinner. They were so accommodating for her, it was very appreciated! The food was a little rich for her, but it was very nice! Was a little disappointed in the fried pineapple, it was a very small piece, and I was expecting some sort of seasoning. But it was hot pineapple with a side of coconut ice cream. Ah well! Live and learn : Also, the Nut Roast could use a little work. I did think it was overall very pricey for what it actually was £30 for two courses , but we knew that going in, and I can't fault the service at all. Lovely staff, attentive but not over bearing! Recommend this place for special occasions, but due to the price being a bit much for what you get, I wouldn't recommend for just a standard Sunday Dinner."

We had dinner at the white Hart inn restaurant. The selection is brief but the food was delicious. The atmosphere is very cosy and authentic. The drive to the location is stunning, to say the least

The Inn and the room where good the only downside (minor) is we had the family room which actually had two single beds in adjacent room which was a little small (only about 15cm between the two beds) okay for smaller children would be less fun with older children/teenagers. A bunk bed would have been better use of space

I went here for a meal for my daughters birthday. No problems parking for all people. Entrance for all people. We were shown to a table and provided with 2 menu s. We ordered our meals, the staff were polite and professional. The food was very well cooked, it was high end cuisine and I thoroughly enjoyed it. But you pay for what you get. I did not see what the rooms or what else was provided so cannot comment on these.

We went for Sunday lunch yesterday and the food was absolutely excellent. Genuinely one of the best roasts I’ve ever had, which is unusual because they’re usually done really badly everywhere. The beef was tender and perfectly cooked, great roasties, excellent gravy, good solid carrot and leek, very good stuffing ball… Faultless really. And the sticky toffee pudding was also a 10/10. Service was friendly. Will definitely be back. View menu

We visited the restaurant here a few weeks ago with friends to celebrate some good news. We all had the 2 course menu for about £30, which had plenty of options and everything sounded good. Portions were a good size, fish was absolutely divine and Yorkshire puddings were huge! Like others on here, I found the grilled pineapple and coconut dessert a little underwhelming, but the rest of my party enjoyed their desserts, particularly the sticky toffee pudding which was a very sizeable amount. Staff were very accommodating and pleasant. The location is also lovely and there are plenty of seating/tables out the back for good weather. Minor gripe about the price of the kids menu, it wasn’t worth t...

Generally a more upmarket place. Dining room was fairly quiet however the function room was exceptionally busy with an event. A relatively limited main menu from which I selected the Monkfish Wellington which to my disappointment was unavailable! Chose the rather expensive £32) Rib Eye steak as an alternative which, whilst served medium rare as requested, was perhaps not of a standard I expected. The Fish and chips my wife chose was fine. Overall, the meal was a gift from our daughter for a 60th Birthday. On reflection, whilst our first impressions were positive I have to say we left a little disappointed with what we consider to be a limited menu, rather meagre portion size of the steak dis...

"Our second visit was even better than our first and that was great! My wife and I visited the Puckersley with friends who live close by. It was our second visit and we remembered that the food was good. A new menu had been introduced just that evening (Friday the 13th) and I noticed a selection of “Rice Bowls” from which I chose the King Prawn option. I can’t fully remember the menu description but it was something like “Salt and Pepper Spicy King Prawns Rice Bowl” MY GOODNESS! I have eaten in some fancy places and never have I been more surprised and delighted by a dish than I was that night. It was served beautifully, the prawns were lightly battered like Tempura prawns they were on a bed of egg fried rice surrounded by a lovely sauce containing goodness knows how many different chilli peppers and beautifully diced vegetables. It was even more enhanced by some greenery (sorry, i forgot what it was) which reminded me of a lightly fried rocket which just melted in your mouth. The dish is a TRIUMPH and must not be missed. I look forward to trying the other versions of this dish on our next visit and we will certainly visit again. Our friends ordered steaks which arrived cooked exactly as they requested which is unusual in itself but not, our friends say, at the Puckersley! My wife could only look enviously at my bowl but fortunately reported that her Scampi was excellent too. The waiting staff (All girls as it happened) were very happy, smiling and extremely efficient too. DO NOT MISS THIS PUB, IT IS A GEM."
