"We were pleasantly surprised by this charming Inn having had disappointing experiences of inns in the past. The staff were really nice and obliging, and although the room was cosy (understandable given how old the building is , it was charmingly appointed in such a way that you really felt like you were in someone 's home in the country and the attention to detail was a really nice touch. Not many places to stay, at much greater cost, offer complimentary bottles of water, diet coke(! , biscuits, vanity kits and toiletries. We also ate at the pub and as the sun was out we sat out in the garden which was perfect. We ordered the chicken Penang curry dish and halloumi burger with chips, both full of flavour and generously portioned. The highlights though were the chocolate brownie sundae and lemon posset. After a day 's cycling, it was the perfect way to end the day. Highly recommended!"

Best roast we had served with 2 meats (lamb and beef) at just £16. Very friendly and helpful staff. We will surely be back.

all the old people are gone. piped music on customers. untrained bar staff lacks warm and joie de vivre. this pub is not similar to the place we loved before covid.

A fantastic country pub which oozes character. Vast assortment of alcohol and great customer service. The garden out the back has to be the greatest asset with lots of seating and beautiful plants. View menu

really nice lunch before they go to stourhead. eat delicious and exactly what we were looking for. very courtesy of dog and baby, sitting at a table hidden in the bar area. will definitely return and recommend.

Very pretty garden, pretty country pub, lovely customer service, family friendly, gorgeous food! They have live music sometimes too which is good fun, a nice crowd with the inevitable small group of mouthy regulars who think they own the place but other than that a real find and perfect for visiting with friends.

I recently moved to the area and visited this restaurant for the first time this week. What a fantastic pub right on our doorstep! The character of the building is amazing and we were impressed with the garden out back. They also have a great selection of beer, ales, and cocktails. I'm excited to finally try their food. We had a wonderful experience at this fantastic local pub/restaurant. The staff was very welcoming and efficient, creating a great atmosphere for a lovely Friday dinner with friends. We all loved our food and will definitely be returning to try more dishes on the menu. I would recommend making a booking to ensure you have a table secured.

During my holiday, I had a delightful meal with my relatives at this charming and quirky inn across from the water. The inn is full of character and charm, and the garden is beautifully decorated with colorful flowers on the terrace. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed. The Sunday dinner was delicious, with generous portions and a variety of desserts. Just be aware that there are a few steps inside the inn and in the garden, so it may not be easily accessible for those with mobility issues. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and wish this inn was closer to home. I highly recommend it as an excellent dining option.

"The Museum Inn, located in Farnham, Nr. Blandford Forum, Dorset, DT11 8DE We booked late on Friday night and only one room was available so it was meant to be! We arrived around 5pm and were greeted by friendly staff, shown to our room The Catch and made a reservation for dinner, luckily they still had spaces for dinner but it is advised to book in advance. Lovely spacious room and bathroom, kettle, teas, coffees and bottled water supplied. I have to say I fell in love with the hand wash and hand cream, I have already purchased some for home, the brand is called Bramley and the scent is Lavender, Geranium and Petitgrain. The bed is probably the most comfortable we have ever slept in that is not our own, soft feather pillows that were just right! Dinner was a three course meal and it was delicious, we took 2 hours to eat but never felt rushed or like we were waiting too long between courses. Starters: Ham hock terrine with sourdough toast and Prawn, potato and crayfish fishcakes. Mains: Burger and Steak Ale pie Desserts: Chocolate Brownie with cherry sorbet. Biscoff donuts with pumpkin pie ice cream Drinks: Poretti lager and Cherry cocktail. Breakfast: Eggs Royale and Smashed avocado, poached egg and bacon, absolutely scrumilicious! Big thanks to Amanda who served us this morning and checked us out. Highly recommend staying and eating here and we will 100% be back again! Safe travels! The Allsebrooks x"
