"What a very pleasant pub! We had not visited for many years and decided to it was time to ‘give it another go’. The dining room was very pleasant, the beer was excellent and the menu, if not as cheap as many, was quite interesting....I had their home-made steak mushroom pie, which was a good size and packed with meat. Mercifully it was a proper pie not the oft-presented casserole with a puff-pastry lid! All the meals ordered were well cooked and well presented, though we didn’t go for the rather more expensive options of loin of lamb or hake. Overall, it was an excellent experience (apart, perhaps, from the ubiquitous piped music) though upon request it was turned down off might have been better!"

all the old people are gone. piped music on customers. untrained bar staff lacks warm and joie de vivre. this pub is not similar to the place we loved before covid.

This is my go to pub when I am back in the area . Always busy and buzzing and the staff are so friendly . Always worth dinner here the fish and chips is my favourite

The menu was very small with very limited choices. The food was served ‘look warm’ a fact that I struggle with, particularly as the prices were upper echelon. The service was extremely poor amongst the worst I have experienced. I very forgettable experience I am...afraid! The setting was superb and therefore should have been so much better

.o yes! beautiful real pub, friendly staff and the best beef we had in years. the bark was cooked exactly as I demanded. crispy beef whips, delicious beef and huge Yorkshire puppies. somehow I have in the homemade brotbutter. pud, another great part, very nice but too much for a person. spoon next time! the reviews are well justified, we will be back!

This was our first time visiting The White Lion and we will definitely be going back. Upon entering we were met with a great level of care in regards to which is always reassuring. We sat outside in the stunning garden as it...was a hot summers evening. The garden, along with the music created a relaxing Mediterranean atmosphere. Due to we had table service (we were only there for drinks) which was useful. We were charged for a cola when we were under the impression it would be half price.

It was such a treat to be out after so long in lockdown and the White Lion certainly didn't disappoint. The garden is well laid out with tables and a really attractive space to dine in. All staff were very efficient and friendly and food...was excellent. Between us we had bread and olives, a burger and chips and chicken supreme with bacon in a stilton sauce. The chips were the best we'd had in a long, long while really crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. We can't wait to return. Thank you so much to all at the White Lion!

warm, warm wein, expensive chips for a tiny part and stressed, untrained staff. we were asked to stop our and year old game with a mini football in mini-garden, as they had a "no ball games" policy. the garden was. empty bar some people playing boulle at the other end. it seems a little bit nasty, because we didn't go to the main beer garden to be respectful of others, and there was no one where we were. if non-existent customers are happier than a family that had already spent in an hour, then no probs, but it is not a surprise that pubs close week after week when the decision-makers are as out of touch as here.

Just had one of the Best meals we have had for years (and I know we haven’t been out much recently but it was AMAZING The mains were truely delicious with the duck and beef being the favourites clearly freshly made and with very...well cooked vegetable and sauces! We made room for desserts and the sticky toffee pudding was divine I think it might be one of the best I’ve ever tasted! The prices were so reasonable we questioned the bill! We had had a lovely night at Stourhead and would highly recommend you visit here afterwards as less than minutes away! We hope to be back soon as many other dishes we would like to sample!

"The Museum Inn, located in Farnham, Nr. Blandford Forum, Dorset, DT11 8DE We booked late on Friday night and only one room was available so it was meant to be! We arrived around 5pm and were greeted by friendly staff, shown to our room The Catch and made a reservation for dinner, luckily they still had spaces for dinner but it is advised to book in advance. Lovely spacious room and bathroom, kettle, teas, coffees and bottled water supplied. I have to say I fell in love with the hand wash and hand cream, I have already purchased some for home, the brand is called Bramley and the scent is Lavender, Geranium and Petitgrain. The bed is probably the most comfortable we have ever slept in that is not our own, soft feather pillows that were just right! Dinner was a three course meal and it was delicious, we took 2 hours to eat but never felt rushed or like we were waiting too long between courses. Starters: Ham hock terrine with sourdough toast and Prawn, potato and crayfish fishcakes. Mains: Burger and Steak Ale pie Desserts: Chocolate Brownie with cherry sorbet. Biscoff donuts with pumpkin pie ice cream Drinks: Poretti lager and Cherry cocktail. Breakfast: Eggs Royale and Smashed avocado, poached egg and bacon, absolutely scrumilicious! Big thanks to Amanda who served us this morning and checked us out. Highly recommend staying and eating here and we will 100% be back again! Safe travels! The Allsebrooks x"
