"We decided to eat here as everywhere else was fully booked on a Wednesday !! And I must admit we were impressed. Firstly there covid set up was first class from first entering the pub to leaving. What was really good to see was the...attention to cleaning both the table and seat before seating us !! Now the food ... From the onset we were told that they had run out of certaain veg etc ... This although disappointing was refreshing as well because we picked our food accordingly. The lady had steak and chips with salad etc and I had the blackened salmon with crushed potatoes and a summer salad and I also got garlic bread ... I must admit the salmon was perfectly cooked and went well with the salad etc. The steak was cooked to my ladies liking and we both thoroughly enjoyed the meal and drinks. This place is worth a visit as I felt safe that all steps to keep the place clean had been taken "

Visited for Sunday lunch. We had the roast beef and roast pork. Both were excellent with a variety of veg and an enormous yorkshire. Would recommend.

Wife and I had a rare evening with no children so I booked a table at The White Star and yet again the experience was faultless. Bridget the manageress and all her staff were amazing and we will be visiting again. The food was lovely...and if you have room for the sticky toffee pudding you will I’ll not be disappointed. We also felt safe as covid rules were being followed.

We found this little gem after attempting to go to Ikea!! And boy am I glad we did. We had the buttered milk batter chicken burger, the best chicken burger we have tasted, so much flavour and taste. I then had the brownies omg again...the best I have had, just melted in my mouth. I ate it so slowly as I didn’t want it to end. And I’m not a huge pudding lover. The service was brilliant too, welcoming and efficient. Well done, cant recommend this enough. Will be definitely going back

I stayed at night to the theater. we were very happy with everything. room well furnished and clean. beautiful bathroom and shower with large towels and bathrobes. comfortable bed. there were real milk for the teekaffee etc. and there were beer and water in. the refrigerator. it was quiet in the night and we slept well. staff all friendly and helpful. the breakfast was nice. we had full English, which was well cooked. there were also pastries, pastries/ croissants etc. overall very good value for money.

I had an amazing time with a few of my closest friends at the White Star. Came out for a birthday meal, had some lovely food, great beers. One of my friends mentioned to the staff that it was my birthday, so in the end,...they came out with a brownie and a candle in it. The biggest surprise they've done was getting their head chef Alastair to sing happy birthday for me. He seemed to be a very charismatic fella. And has a great voice. For anyone who wants to make their birthday a special event I recommend the White Star and definitely ask for chef Alastair to sing you a happy birthday, he seemed to really enjoy doing it. 5 stars and definitely coming back again!

this is a local pub for me have tried to eat here 3 times and rejected at any occasion. there is a new team under bridge with eating up to 10 o'clock yes right! first time at 20 o'clock said kitchen closed, second when they were out of the food (not available at this gas house! and at the last opportunity in the oktober said that I had to book when I wanted to eat and they were too busy as they had one function. I'm sorry it's a pub, it seems that they either don't want to sell food or they can't be disturbed. so it is very poor. I tried to eat here without success and the barman thought I was strange not to book. obviously they do not want the business, and I will never try again that this...

"Bacaro is situated in Ocean village and it is a little gem of a place. It is tastefully decorated for a chilled and relaxing time that you will have. There is both a restaurant and bar area and you feel at ease in the place !! Anyway upon arrival you are always greeted with a smile by the happy bar staff which is always lovely I have always loved this place but I would only give a top rating if it deserved it and not through loyalty !! Tonight I had arancini, crayfish linguine and garlic bread, washed down with a lovely glass of house red. The arancini are just the best I have ever tasted, they are both filling but light, the taste is a joy for the taste buds and obviously highly recommended. The linguine is a good portion, I love the flavours and the way the dish is both cooked and presented, the crayfish has a subtle flavour and I never leave any of it. The garlic bread is filling and not dry, they don't skimp on the garlic butter I can't fault the food at all and never have done this is mainly due to the sublime cooking skills from the chefs Greg, Alex and all the wonderful kitchen staff. Bacaro is expertly run the effervescent manager Sophie, for the job you do and how you run Bacaro I tip my hat to you Sophie is well backed up by Matt, Eleanor, Conor, Sindija and all the other wonderful staff ... You make the place and we are grateful for the brilliant jobs you do Very highly recommend"
