"We came across a recommendation for this restaurant on Surrey Vegans and decided to seize the opportunity to check it out ourselves, especially with the beautiful weather today. Bletley is a charming old village and the pub itself dates back to 1388, maintaining its character. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, quickly showing me their vegan options on the menu which could be easily customized (with the exception of a couple of fish dishes). We both opted for the "fish" and chips, made with banana blossom as they had more vegan customers that day than non-vegan! We were not disappointed by the delicious meal. I had the vegan roast and my partner enjoyed the veggie nachos (which could be made vegan by omitting the cheese). The roast was especially tasty, with a fantastic mushroom wellington. For dessert, we shared a scrumptious chocolate and salted caramel torte. It was evident that the chef was passionate about vegan cuisine and was happy to discuss it with us. The menu features a variety of vegan options including cake, lasagne, roast dinner, nachos, and a selection of desserts. We definitely plan to return to try the vegan fish and chips and would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area or those looking for a pleasant day trip in Surrey."

First the good: staff were friendly, bed linen was clean, bathroom was clean, breakfast was good. Now the bad: there was damp on my bedroom walls and a bucket in the corridor to collect the rain and falling plaster from the ceiling.

We have tried the Top 10 burgers IN Surrey as per Trip Advisor and this is by far the best. Meat is local and cooked to perfection. Service is lovely and reasonably priced. We have now visited this place twice and will definitely visit again.

Our first visit for a Sunday lunch and very impressed. My wife often struggles for a good vegetarian option but was delighted with the nut roast. Equally my roast beef was one of the best. Shall visit again. Possibly for the mid-week Asian evening. View menu

A few weeks ago, I made a reservation at this restaurant for a room. However, when I arrived this afternoon, I was shocked to find it closed and locked. I was relieved that I hadn't paid in advance. I spent the rest of the afternoon searching for alternative accommodation. I am extremely disappointed to say the least.

How this pub is rated 3 out of 4 in Bletchingley I have no idea and I’ve tried them all. Outstanding pub grub with excellent ales and wines. The staff are as pleasant and helpful as you would expect to find at any high brow...establishment. It’s rapidly becoming our little home from home. Spot on with a gorgeous log fire to enjoy as well. Very relaxing and a must in the Redhill area. Thanks again.

After making a reservation at the restaurant, I arrived only to find a "for sale" sign and cobwebs covering the doors and windows. It seems that the hotel owner is not able to admit that the business is no longer operating. My cell phone battery was dying and I had to call a taxi to take me back to the airport, find a hotel, and pay double the agreed rate. If guests plan on staying at this seemingly charming village away from the airport, I highly recommend calling ahead to confirm that the business is still in operation. View menu

I was with my friend in this hotel. the owner and his partner were extremely helpful and friendly. at 31. we arrived late in the hotel and were very hungry and the hotel restaurant was closed. the gentleman has led us to a... Indian farewell. we bought the food and brought it to the hotel. we were offered to sit in the restaurant, gave us an excellent service as if the food was served by them. the morning breakfast was excellent. full English breakfast and there is the possibility for continental breakfast if you want. I can't mistake this hotel although it seems within 2-3 stars area, but service was great and there are free parking as well. we checked on 1st august.

This was our first visit to The White Hart's for a post-walk lunchtime, on a Monday. Key Points : 1. Very easy to make arrangements beforehand. 2. Happy to welcome well-behaved dogs 3. A warm welcome for the group members as they arrived and placed...their orders at the bar for food and other refreshment. 4. Being a sunny, warm lunchtime we were able to enjoy our lunch in the charming, quiet garden behind the main Hotel building a haven of peace away from the nearby A25. 5. A great lunchtime menu was offered, with a wide range of choice; AND so many options that I personally would have enjoyed. 6. Our meals arrived very much together, within minutes of each other freshly prepared/cooked. All...

"Popped in here a month ago to see what the place was like... Peaceful and cosy, there are lots of little knick knacks to look at and some are even for sale! We were made to feel welcome from the moment we stepped through the door to the moment we left. Overwhelmed by the choice of cakes on offer on the counter, I wished to try the afternoon tea, so we had to forego the beautiful creations for the three tiers of delights brought out on the stand. It was so delicious, I immediately booked for a table of 10 to celebrate my Mother 's 80th birthday. This fell last week, and we had the perfect afternoon with high tea for all. After glasses of non alcoholic prosecco for all, we were served the freshest, most well filled sandwiches (salmon and cream cheese, perfectly seasoned egg mayonnaise, and cream cheese, cucumber and chive ; just baked scones with cream and proper strawberry jam (not, as my Mum pointed out, red jam, but strawberry jam like they used to make, where you can actually taste the berries! ; and a selection of cakes, macarons, mini eclairs, and sherry glasses of a fruity mousse, topped with fresh fruit and gold lustre. The crowning glory was a cake so fresh it refused to stay in one slice as my Mum tried to portion it! (Please note, this was purchased/arranged as an extra. The tea was hot and plentiful and was refreshed over and over. The two gentlemen who man the shop are the sweetest most friendly chaps ever. As others have mentioned, they are both deaf, but this doesn 't hinder anything indeed I even made sure I leaned a few key words in BSL, which I 've loved and I was taught a few more whilst I was there as well. Everyone said it 's an absolute gem and I believe everyone has plans to return. I will definitely be going back, as I want to try more of those cakes!! Thank you for making a very special day absolutely perfect. An absolute credit to the village and surrounding area! <3 x"

"Went for a lovely Sunday morning walk ahead of lunch at the Barley Mow, following a circular route which starts and ends in the pub car park. By the time we got back, the car park was full so do book ahead. Anyway, onto lunch itself. As always, the staff at the Barley Mow gave us a warm welcome and were very attentive. We had booked a table for 5, so it was a little disappointing to be squeezed onto a table for four with an extra seat. There is a wide choice of roasts including Sirloin beef, stuffed pork and duo of lamb. I went for the beef which was delicious with a huge Yorkshire pudding on the side. Plenty of veg too including a creamy cauliflower cheese and braised red cabbage which was amazing. Despite being quite full, we decided to go for dessert, but these were a bit of a let down after how good the main courses were. In fairness, the chocolate brownie did look very nice but the deconstructed lemon cheesecake was a disappointment. Served in a fluted brass cocktail glass, it was over half full of crushed ginger nut biscuits with only a tiny layer of creamy lemon topping. This made it surprisingly dry. And the bread and butter pudding was unlike any I've seen before (and not in a good way). The bread was thick and dry, absorbing none of the custard which looked to be more your standard yellow powdered variety, so acting more like a sandwich filling. The staff were very apologetic though and did agree it looked somewhat unusual so refunded that dessert. I would still definitely come back on the strength of the roasts though, but perhaps skip pudding!"
