"We visited here as a family of four for lunch, my 11 year old daughter has coeliac disease which often makes finding somewhere that we trust to ensure her food is gluten free, difficult at times. I spoke with who I assume was the manager who immediately asked if my daughter was coeliac when I asked about gluten free options gave us several options that she could eat whilst showing awareness empathy to her. There were plenty of options on the menu for her which could be adapted to gluten free. Needless to say we were happy to eat here she enjoyed gluten free sausage chips, which came with a label so we knew it wasn't mixed up with her sisters. The rest of our muggle food was pretty tasty too! Highly recommended."

Visited for afternoon tea, to celebrate Birthday. It was good but rather expensive. A lot of chocolate bits of cakes, maybe could vary a bit.

Visited for lunch today, lovely staff, really great food choices (great vegan and vegetarian options for lunch, breakfast and sweet treats). It’s recently been done up inside and looks lovely. Highly recommend this place!

We visited as a family of 4 for breakfast. We had two breakfast subs, waffles and bacon and a tuna mayo sandwich and honeslty I couldn't like this place anymore if I tried. Quaint, quirky, great service and even better food.

We visited with friends for special celebrations and we were treated like royalty. The food and service was amazing , cocktails for brunch was a special touch and very yummy. The place itself has a wonderful vibe . Can't wait to go back !

We ended up visiting twice because the food and staff were so great! The portion sizes are very generous, they are big believers in thick cut bread here a proper doorstep sandwich. The ingredients are super tasty and fresh, using local sources. Definitely recommend trying to get a seat up in the terrace garden.

Had a voucher for my birthday for afternoon tea. And it didn’t disappoint, the sandwiches were lovely and fresh with plenty of filling. The cakes were absolutely divine. The scones were beautiful, with individual pots of jam and plenty of clotted cream. The staff were friendly and very attentive. I would highly recommend the Lion Rock and I will definitely be returning.

Excellent little gem! Food was good quality. Staff were friendly, location and decor were lovely. I’d recommend booking, they were really popular, and arrive ahead of time to find a parking spot. We would definitely go again. Great vegan/ egg free options. My only request would be somewhere to change a baby, we had a bit of an awkward change on the floor in the corner of the restaurant.

Another fabulous visit to Lion Rock tea rooms. As locals this is a special place for holiday trips, birthdays etc. and today lived up to the usual magic. Fabulous staff. Incredible food and very happy to accommodate my vegan requests to mix things from the menu. Topped off with a vegan cream tea and a perfect brew of loose leaved tea in a pot. Thank you for going to extra mile with friendliness, service and vegan offerings along side the usual dishes. We always leave with full bellies and happy hearts.

"Been wanting to try this ‘alternative’ pub for a while. Large car park with plenty of space, no steps or slopes into the bar. Access for buggies, wheelchairs etc should be okay, my mother walks with the aid of a frame and has no issues. Inside the decor is certainly alternative but in a great way, loved it! Plenty to look at, keep you entertained and talk about as you wait for your food or just pass the time. Staff were friendly and welcoming, there was just one guy running the bar, taking food orders and bringing food out; I thought he needed a helper or coworker really. There is a decent bar area with seating or there is more ‘restaurant’ style seating further back beyond the bar. We chose to sit in the bar area seating which is a mixture of booth and chairs. Dogs are allowed in which is great, there is free Wi-Fi which is good as my mobile signal was very poor. The menu is standard pub food, quite a bit of choice and plenty of options for gluten free. I chose to have the fillet steak cooked medium, I had a starter of garlic bread but chose for it all to come out together. Mother had beef brisket loaded fries, the portion was massive so I had to help her finish it. The steak was perfectly cooked, I chose to have the peppercorn sauce; this was a bit watery and bland. The steak comes with chunky chips, peas, mushrooms, tomatoes and onion rings. For dessert I had the nutty apple crumble with ice cream, it was okay. Overall this is a great venue with acceptable food, friendly staff and awesome decor that will keep you talking and looking all night. Based on this experience I would visit again."
