"I took my Dad to this pub (or is a restuarant?? for a couple of pints. It was great to see that it had a car park so we just drove in. We had to enter the pub via the car park due to covid measures so the staff saw that I 'd parked in the car park. They did not tell me that I had to register my car to avoid a fine and two weeks later I received a parking fine in the post for Β£60, which if you don 't pay within two weeks increases to Β£100. I called the pub and I was told in a very abrupt manner 'yes. you do have to register your car at the pub to avoid the fine ' I told them I wasn 't told this by the person who served me and she then said 'well, there are signs! ' I questioned that, saying 'why would you look for signs in a pub car park? You should tell everyone when they come in, and check if they have parked in the car park ' she just repeated, well there are plenty of signs. Helpful! Not! There are other reviews on here from people who 've been fined, so they 're not that obvious are they?? Aside from that, the service was very slow, even though the pub was pretty much empty, we had two pints of Estrella, which was very expensive, so all in all those couple of drinks cost me over Β£75. I won 't be going back!"

The Woodman has become one of my favourite pubs around, always great food and friendly locals atmosphere. I came in for a Sunday roast with a friend of mine and it was absolutely fantastic! Huge portions and so tasty. Will be bringing my family in to try as it was so good, and great value.

Popped in for a quick business trip and a bite to eat. We sat in the conservatory and were offered coffee. The lady serving us was friendly and managed to convince us to buy lunch and we weren't disappointed we both had lasagna and it was lovely! If anything the portion was too big and it was incredible value for money. View menu

We had a delightful roast dinner at this restaurant on Sunday. It was quite busy with customers walking in, so they had run out of most of the roast dinners. Fortunately, they had two roast chickens left for my partner and me. The food was fantastic and the staff were very kind. They even brought us extra gravy without us needing to ask. This exceptional service made it a perfect 10/10 experience. It is a charming little pub.

I visited this restaurant with my friend and our dogs. The young woman working behind the bar was incredibly helpful, even though she was working alone. She cooked us two delicious pies - the highly recommended moo and blue pie, as well as the Kate and Sidney pies. I will definitely return to try their pizzas. My only suggestion for improvement is to hire more staff so that the young woman is not left to handle all tasks on her own.

We had a fantastic roast at the Woodman! It's a lovely local pub, really welcoming, and in a beautiful old building. The staff were charming and went out of their way to accommodate our toddler and dog! The food was excellent too, and in really generous portions. The beer garden was clean and pleasant- a lovely place to spend to spend an autumn afternoon. It's clear that the manager and staff take pride in their pub. We will definitely be back! View menu

I think my 3 stars are on the generous side. This was tired sad sunday roast. Flaccid and without any fireworks or smidge of care and interest in cookimg or presentation. My daughter kids burger was a sad affair, beyond the pale: dried out and awful filler w meat mixuture if you ask me. My beef sunday roast was average at best and they couldnt figure out serving the sauces for the pork, beef and lamb simultaneously. Happy to support businesses but not when they seemingly dont care abt their customers in the kitchen. Sorry but utterly disappointed.

I hadn't been to the pub in several years, but decided to give it a try. There were six of us, and upon entering the dining area, we noticed things were not as they should be. Bar stools at some tables made for uncomfortable seating. We had checked the menu online and knew what we wanted, but were told they only had pizzas and a selection of pies available. We ordered the pie and mash with mushy peas. After waiting over an hour in a nearly empty dining room, and feeling very hungry by now, our plates finally arrived. The portion sizes were disappointingly small - just a small spoonful of mashed potatoes and peas. The pie was tasty, but we were still hungry afterwards. We considered ordering...
