"Remember to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a resort. This web site will compare countless booking websites and usually will have rooms a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later! This place is one of my favorites in the area. I have been staying here for a very long time. If you stay for a few nights you will love it I'm sure! Great find near Heaton Park, especially as they welcome dogs! Food is very reasonably priced but also delicious. Staff couldn't do enough for us. Was busy due to lovely weather but they handled it excellently."

Lovely Pub. The food is nice and well presented, the jack fruit wings are different but good. The children menu has a wide range to choose from and they are a good size. Perfect for a Sunday meal. Highly recommend.

Great for drinks in the sunshine, however, the quality of the food and the service you receive while you're dining, has deteriorated. While it is cheap, it used to be a great spot for food. Now, you just get exactly what you pay for.

I haven't been to The Woodthorpe for several years I must say I was pleasantly impressed! The Scampi chips was delicious and presented impeccably. The service was quick and the staff were lovely. I would have given 5 stars, but not too keen on dogs in the bar eating area

I have to say, the building is amazing, plenty of parking space, close to Heaton Park if you want to go for a walk but the main draw for me, is the staff. They are really nice, and I mean real nice, not the fake type because someone told them. The food is fantastic and fairly priced as well.

It was really lovely, they did was great, large portions too. There is a nice little dog friendly area with water and treats, there were only 2 tables so we were allowed to sit on the big table were the stained glass arch window is. It would be great if the section just before the bar on the left was opened up to dogs, it would be perfect and has a wooden floor x

Went there to have a meal on our 37th anniversary. we got there at 8:00pm and sat down looking at menus.. we were approached by staff saying they stopped meals at 7:45. We promptly left. They had a large board in the car park still advertising meals and menu's on tables. It must be a good feeling to turn down money in these days. They would have begged for it in lockdown.

Stayed in the hotel for one night, lady that checked us in was lovely and showed us our room, great service! Room was spacious, clean and the beds are super comfy, all had a good night sleep. Value for money is definitely up there, exceeded expectations : Food in the pub was amazing too. There was one little hiccup before arriving about amending the booking, spoke to a lady on the phone that wasn’t too accommodating but all got resolved in the end. Happy guests! Would recommend

Always been good food, good pub grub....... food is goin really bad. The chicken is pumped full of so much water you could ring it out and hang it on the line to dry.... the offers have all but dissappeard. Only few remain.. I understand they need to get the money back from covid but personally I don't want to come again. The beefeater is actually now cheaper.... service and staff are always outstanding... P.S. i expect these super large chickens to be across the full holts pubs.... shame on you.

"I’ve been coming here for years. Always nicely busy, a comfortable place to be and great produce used on their very extensive menu. A place I always felt I’d recommend to anyone. I’m not quite sure what’s going on. We arrived after the lunch rush, just after 2.30. Nobody to greet and seat so after a few minutes of standing about we decided to sit down at a free table. As we sat down, a waitress came out of the kitchen so I asked if it was ok to take the table we had. A cursory grunt... We were quickly informed that only ‘the bacon to the bagel’ on the menu was available as it was after 2:30. Five or six choices off a menu that must feature over thirty dishes on a SATURDAY. We made our choices, service was slow, but the food when it game was good (as it should be for a smoked salmon bagel and a sausage butty, let’s face it you’d have to try hard to mess that up) My friend then decided on dessert and coffee. We tried for quite some time in a now mostly empty restaurant to catch the eye of our waitress and when she passed and I asked politely if I could order a dessert, I was met with an impatient ‘can I just do this first??’ Another waitress overheard and offered to do it for us. There was a fair bit of noticeable disharmony between the staff and complaints made between themselves could be heard by both myself and my friend. We honestly felt like we were a huge inconvenience. After another lengthy wait I asked for the bill. It didn’t come. We watched instead as our waitress sat at the table next to us ‘cashing up’, or rather counting blue copies of orders. After a good while she approached the table and asked if we wouldn’t mind paying as she wanted to finish up. At this point I told her that I had asked her for bill ten minutes ago and still hadn’t received it. ‘Well you didn’t ask me’ came the reply. Ugh. All in all, very uncomfortable. Snappish service and for me, an extensive menu shouldn’t be so limited at 2.30pm on a Saturday. I noticed that you could order a fried egg on your bacon butty, but not after 2.30pm?? After 2.30pm it was a bacon butty without an egg. Crazy. If this had been my first visit, I would never had made a second. In fact, despite enjoying it a lot over the years, I doubt I will be back. Such a shame..."

"This is an open and honest review from dining there tonight on 16/03/2024. After arriving at 5pm for opening, the restaurant was not open until 17:15pm. Once inside we were pointed to a table near the window and given the menu. To note the restaurant was freezing the whole time we were there. After 10 minutes we were asked would we like drinks. We ordered two cokes which were served warm and nearly flat. Despite having previously ordered takeaways from here over the years and never had a problem, I purposely chose to dine inside to celebrate my birthday; although this was a huge mistake after tonight’s poor service from the moment we arrived to leaving. After we got the drinks it took a further 15minutes before we were asked to order our food (more waiting around) finally we placed our order and when the starters came out, I had ordered meat samosas and my partner ordered onion bhaji’s. I took one bite into the meat samosa which was stone cold and freezing, which was served to me not cooked throughout. I told the waitress who apologised and took them away. After another 5 minutes they gave me fresh samosas which were pipping hot. In addition portion size is lacking and for the price isn’t worth it for both samosas onion bhaji’s. Equally, two customers waiting for takeaways were served their food before we had been given are main dishes although, we had been there since opening. Once we finished our starters we waited over 1 hour for our food to come out. Therefore we were just about to leave the restaurant due to the lack of service. The atmosphere was dreadful and they don’t approach your table to ask if you would like drinks or anything, or to address the fact you’ve been in there for over an hour and yet still waiting for food. To add to this terrible experience they then took mine and my partners unfinished drinks of the table, which we had to ask for our drinks back. Which in any other restaurant they would have apologised and given new ones back, not ones which were taken away out of sight. No discounts given for a spoilt birthday meal and all which add to this poor dining experience. I will never order from here again. Especially once the main dishes were served the children korma did not look cooked properly. I will report back if I get food poisoning. If you want to waste money on small portion sizes, no decent atmosphere, terrible service, terrible cold food and have to wait a ridiculous amount of time for your drinks and food, I would think again. This is not the 5 star dining experience expected and doesn’t justify the service I received tonight. Waste of money and shouldn’t have paid. If I could give it NO stars I would have."
