"Shocking service. Called to queue for the carvery, then a ten min wait for chefs to arrive and carve. No apology for delay. I asked for the lamb, before serving the chef noticed a slither of fat which he cut off. I expected him to replace the fat with more meat. He didn't. I requested more. He curtly said that is the correct portion. He did not offer an upgrade. My husband asked for lamb and pork. The chef forgot and cut lamb only. My husband reminded he had requested pork as well. Chef then carved pork. Therefore my husband received a double portion of meat. No consistency. He did not wish for mint sauce. Mint sauce was poured on his plate. My husband requested mustard. This was not provided and my husband had to remind him. I asked for a few Carrots. Shovel fulls were piled on. The communication skills were shocking. Someone asked how our meals were. We told her the above. She offered to fetch me more lamb. I had finished my meal by the time she returned to say sorry for the delay....without the additional lamb. We were offered free desserts. Ten mins after receiving the menu they finally took the dessert order. After 20 mins someone asked what dessert was ordered. Ten mins after that someone said the dessert would be with us soon. Finally after another five mins the desserts arrived. We will not be returning. If I could give a zero score I would."

We had booked a table and arrived early. We were kept waiting 25 minutes over our time while we watched other people being directed straight to tables. Once seated our meal was good.

Lovely carvery. Very polite staff. Food hot and delicious. Excellent value for money. Used my blue light card for 20% off food, which was an added bonus. Looking forward to next visit!

Really enjoyed our meal and experience at the Toby, staff were very friendly and helpful, food was excellent and tasted like home cooked dinner, the restaurant was very clean and had a good atmosphere, will definitely come again.

Booked a table waitd 40mins to be seated then another 40mins once sat down to be served our food, they had ran out of lamb which is why I wanted to come here, had beef and pork which was lovely meats just ashame about the caluiflower cheese very hard,

My friend and I were warmly greeted with a friendly smile as soon as we entered the restaurant, even though we arrived early. Their table notification system was excellent. The food was delicious and we couldn't find any faults with our experience that night.

I was stopping in the area to race the Ironman event in Stafford and wanted a good old basic meal the night before the race. You can’t go wrong with a Toby carvery! You know what you’re going to get, plenty of it and great value for money. Staff were very welcoming.

We had a reservation for 3pm, but had to wait approximately 35 minutes for our table. Despite people coming in and being seated with parties of three, we felt unwelcome by the staff. The food was disappointing, as the beef was fatty and the turkey was soggy. Additionally, there was no mustard and only a minimal amount of gravy. Overall, it was a negative experience and I would not recommend this place.
