"The family and I were visiting the Schloss museum and found this place by happy accident. Super friendly staff really helped make for a more than pleasant evening. The food was above average paneuro cuisine that was quite reasonably priced. We were there early Saturday...evening and they had most of their tables reserved so keep that in mind if you are planning on eating there. The meal consisted of a carrot ginger soup and spaghetti in olive oil with fresh garlic, tomato cubes, and crushed peppers for my wife and I had frog legs and beef kidneys in a cream mustard sauce with oven potatoes and mixed vegetables. All in all it was a nice unexpected surprise to the end of a lovely day"

I and my wife had a great lunch on the terrace. a beautiful view, good eating and friendly staff. it was no problem getting a glass of lead water and a child chair for our year.

The Tomate is located just near the castle and it is very pleasant to eat outside. You have a choice of flammküche and of italian food. The food is all right, but when you get there on a saturday evening which was our case,...then you have to wait a long time which is a pity due to the excellent location

I and a colleague went for dinner here tonight. I had a flammkuchen suggested by the waitress, and she was right: it was a very nice flammkuchen. The wine I ordered a spatburgunder, I think was quite good too. All in all quite a nice...meal, for just about euro's. Together with the nice service I can definitely recommend this restaurant

we enjoyed two beautiful dishes on a sunny Sunday during the theater festival august, including a good wine. really a nice restaurant, although we decided to sit on the outside and serve in good weather and enjoy music close to. the waiters gave lunch...an extra good size, contemporary and friendly, easy good service as they should expect at tomato with their good call. we give them our best recommendations and will visit them frequently.

The waitresses gave the lunch...an extra good dimension, timely and friendly, just good service as you should expect at Tomato with their good reputation. We give them our best recommendations, and will visit them again frequently

I've been there for a couple of times with my friends. It was actually the first bar I've visited since I came to Germany ca. years ago. The waitress is very nice and she speaks fluent English. The menu has plenty of choices for...drinks and the food is also quite delicious. The best part of this bar is the location and atmosphere. It's right in front of the schloss palace and has outdoor seating in the palace square. Nowhere better to enjoy the view of the palace

"I'm not keen on negative reviews, as everyone is entitled to an off night, bit the experience was pretty shoddy. Was a busy Saturday night in Saarbrucken, World Cup quarter finals playing everywhere... and we were a party of 7 that hadn't booked anywhere on...an overnight stop over. We checked with the restaurant if they could take us, they said yes and led us to the table. Staff were pleasant and helpful. This was about 8pm. We ordered drinks, food, one of which was a mixed platter of cold meats as an entrée. The mixed platter arrived an hour later. An hour. For sliced cold meat. The waitress was apologetic and as we were in no rush (at that point), we just ordered more drinks. The platter was pretty average, but then we'd just come from Italy where Antipasti, Salami and Cheese is infinitely better. By 10pm there was no sign of the mains. We asked when the dinner might come and the waitress said she would check. When she came back, the response was that they couldn't tell when they would be ready, but not soon... and that was it. This is 10pm. Two hours after coming in and being told they could accommodate us. The outside tables of the restaurant were busy, the large inside pretty empty. We chose to pay (a lot, because it's pretty expensive) for what we'd consumed, and left. Shame the staff in the restaurant kitchen didn't care as much about their customers as the waitress did, but even so... a shoddy service, elevated prices that simply benefits from its location in central Saarbrucken. There are better alternatives all around the centre, some of them much better value too. I'm sure they have better days... But if you want to get a reliable, quality service at a good price... Maybe don't choose a Saturday night at Gaathaus Zahm."
