"We took a refreshing break before returning to our hotel nearby. We didn’t know anything at all about Toraya, but a lady seated inside,on her own, give us a “discreet” thumb up while we were looking through the window. The place was quiet and we were offered a “monastic” table near the window. The waitress was very patience and gave us plenty of guidance and explanations. We ate several confectioneries that my partner and I never tried before, all were delicious, full of flavour and most of them a big surprise to our palates. We heard for the 1st time about ingredients that we didn’t know exists and we drank macha tea and green that were invigorating. The place is a little pricey (we were greedy!), but the experience is well worth the expense. We mentioned this place to the concierge of the Castille Hotel and he agreed with us that the place is wonderful and we should go back for lunch next time."

This place is great for lunch, they have a menu that tastes fresh and light. There's only 3 choices and if you reserve you also need to choose in advance; but everything look and taste delicious (including their famous traditional Japanese desserts).

We had a great tea time with Japanese seasonal sweet and green tea. Just gorgeously good. They also have food all day. We will not miss next time to have lunch there when we are in Paris. Nice atmosphere and spacey. You must book in advance for tea or for lunch.

Invited for a business lunch and was a pleasant surprise. It's the most authentic Japanese restaurant I've ever visited. Luckily, my launch companion had lived in Japan for 15 years so he ordered for me and it was amazing. I had a rice bowl with avocado and crab. Would highly recommend!

We stopped by chance to eat in this restaurant and we do not regret it at all. good cuisine, excellent dishes. beautiful decoration and super comfortable, very clean with disinfectant gel for hands on each table. very nice service, with conviviality and smile, nicely presented plates. I recommend to all those looking for a good Japanese cuisine.

Located just off the Place de la Concorde, and in the heart of Paris' most upscale shopping street, Toraya combines boutique design with traditional Japanese fare. The best items here are the soup and rice bowls, brimming with fresh and savory ingredients. The restaurant takes special pride in its desserts and confections, made from bean curds. They may sound unappetizing, but the taste is quite pleasant. Service is extremely friendly and efficient.

The menu changes each season so it is difficult to comment on the diversity since there are only 4 menu items to choose from. Each menu is approximately 30 euros and includes a tea and small dessert. We ordered the soba noodles, but frankly, they did not have much taste and there was significantly too much roquette on top making the dish taste very bitter. My biggest critique is that the tables are too close together not allowing any privacy, and also the lighting and deco are poorly thought out. Not sure I'd go back.
